Many animals are endangered.

Some people argue that we should only protect animals that are useful to human.

The late 20th century has witnessed revolutionary breakthroughs in technology while natural resources have been depleted and animals been slaughtered. A disparity between the survival of wild animals and human raised animals is broadened and this is what we need to battle for a sustainable perspective.

Amongst human kept species, the life of livestock differentiates from that of pets. Livestock characterized mostly by animals which can feed humans is always treated cruelly. Pigs, cows, chickens, to name a few, are restrained in a limited space only for standing and lying before being slaughtered. While voices from environmentalists as well as animal protectors are not mute, the situation continues. Ironically, we treat companion pets such as dogs, cats, even pigs as equally as human beings. Despite such animals being used either for meat or for entertainment, they are supposed to be treated in a humanitarian way.

Nevertheless, some wild species are endangered with unexpected speed due to illegal poaching or environmental damage. As some of them are either economically valuable or sensitive to the condition of habitats, they are fragile and easily subject to human activities. Once the number of such animals is below certain percentage, it is impossible for them to reproduce with the implication that they are sentenced to extinction. With ripple effect, their disappearance would pose threats to the whole healthy ecosystem subsequently. If there were no big carnivores, some small species in the inferior position in the food chain ,such as mice would reproduce with an swelling speed ,thus resulting in the destroying of the land.

What it sheds light here is an analogy that where we can see mammoth or other ancient giants is in museums or in movies. If we don't want our next generations to see wild Africa tiger in museum, It is high time that we should conserve them and reduce our plaguing on them before it is too late. Also, treating livestock nicely contributes.
