【專家簡介】

Timo Balz was born in Stuttgart, Germany. He received? the Doctoral degree (Dr.-Ing.) in aerospace engineering and geodesy from the Universitaet Stuttgart, Stuttgart, in? 2007.From fall 2001 to the end of 2007, he was a Research Assistant with the Institute for Photogrammetry, Universitaet Stuttgart. Between 2004 and 2005, he was a Visiting Scholar with Wuhan University, Wuhan, China. From 2008-2010, he has been a Postdoctoral Research Fellow with the State Key Laboratory of Information Engineering in Surveying, Mapping and Remote Sensing (LIESMARS), Wuhan University. From 2010-2015 he was Associate Professor for Radar Remote Sensing with LIESMARS. Since 2015 he is Full Professor with LIESMARS. Since 2021, he is Vice-Director of the International Acadamy of GeoInformation, Wuhan University. He serves as Associate Editor for Remote Sensing and he is member of the editorial board of Geo-Spatial Information Science. Since 2016 he is Chair of the ISPRS Commission I Working Group on SAR and Microwave Sensing. He has authored and co-authored more than 150 scientific articles in journals, books, and conference proceedings.

Timo Balz出生于德國斯圖加特。在2007年獲得了航空航天工程與大地測量的博士學位。2001年秋季至2007年底，擔任斯圖加特大學攝影測量研究所的研究助理。2004年至2005年間，曾任中國武漢大學的訪問學者。2008-2010年任武漢大學測繪與遙感信息工程國家重點實驗室( LIESMARS )博士后研究員。2010-2015年任LIESMARS雷達遙感副教授。自2015年起，升任LIESMARS的正式教授。2021年起，開始擔任武漢大學國際地理信息學術(shù)研究室副主任。此外還擔任《Remote Sensing》副主編、《Geo-Spatial Information Science》編委會成員。2016年起擔任ISPRS委員會SAR與微波傳感工作組主席?？偣舶l(fā)表過150多篇科學論文。Timo Balz的研究方向包括SAR地表運動估計、數(shù)據(jù)可視化、SAR大地測量以及利用SAR數(shù)據(jù)支持考古勘探。
