Buddha's doctrine: Man suffers because of his craving to possess and keep forever things which are essentially impermanent... this frustration of the desire to possess is the immediate cause of suffering.'
“his craving to possess and keep forever things which are essentially impermanent”中,并應(yīng)為“keep things forever”的語(yǔ)序,為了能讓which修飾things,所以將forever提前。
“Man suffers because of his craving to possess and keep forever things which are essentially impermanent”這句話的翻譯,可以采取順譯,處理為“人世之苦,在于…”;或者倒過(guò)來(lái)翻譯,處理為“正因?yàn)椤匀松谑谰鸵芸?。”?/p>
“this frustration of the desire to possess is the immediate cause of suffering”這句話中,“the immediate cause of suffering”的翻譯同學(xué)們大多處理得比較直,不夠靈活。
