Background:
Teachers are the high risk group of job burnout.
Teachers’ job burnout will affect the development of the teachers’ professional qualities and influence the teachers’ minds and bodies greatly, the students’ study and the health of their mind and bodies will be influenced strongly.
The head-teachers’ jobs are concerned with the charge of the class, the charge of the students and moral education, meanwhile they work under the pressure of the schools, students, students’ parents and society, therefore the head-teachers are under great pressure in education and teaching.
Their job burnout is more serious than teachers, and has worse impact, causing that many head-teachers are going to leave their positions.

What:
This research mainly investigate the head-teachers’ job burnout of H area in Huizhou, and discuss the relationship between head-teachers’ position-quitting intention of high schools and their job burnout in order to provide more scientific information about the head-teachers’ job burnout of high schools in our country; to promote the theory of the research and development in head-teachers of high schools; and it can provide theoretical foundation efficiently about preventing and interfering their job burnout in order to lower the position-quitting intention of the head-teachers, to improve their professional happiness and promote their physically and mentally healthy development.

How:
Being based on the research at home and abroad, the empirical study and analysis are carried out in job burnout of the head-teachers.
collected the data by questionnaire and interview.
adopted SPSS17.0 to analyze and deal with the data.
took some measures to gain the questionnaire analysis like single-factor correlation analysis, correlation analysis, and regression analysis etc.
This research studied empirically in demographic variable, the differences in the job burnout of head-teachers in senior high schools; and the differences between the job characteristics and position-quitting intention; meanwhile it studied the correlation between job burnout of the head-teachers and their position-quitting intention, and the correlation between the job characteristic of head-teachers and their position-quitting intention.

Result:
The research results show:
Firstly, the head-teachers in high schools of different genders, different marital status, different types of schools, different areas that schools belong to, different teaching subjects, different teaching grades, different length of teaching, different ages, different educational backgrounds, different professional titles and the number of lessons in a week don’t significantly differ in the job burnout; while The length of time as a head-teacher and the different allowances of the head-teachers significantly differ in the job burnout.
Secondly, different genders, different marital status, different types of schools, different areas that schools belong to, different teaching subjects, different teaching grades and different length of teaching of the head-teachers in high schools don’t differ significantly in physical and emotional exhaustion, depersonalization and reduced personal accomplishment.
And different ages, different educational backgrounds, different professional titles and the number of lessons in a week don’t significantly differ in physical and emotional exhaustion and depersonalization, while significantly differing in reduced personal accomplishment.
The length of time as a head-teacher and different allowances of the head-teachers don’t significantly differ in physical and emotional exhaustion ,while significantly differing in depersonalization and reduced personal accomplishment.
Thirdly, in this study, there are thirteen demographic variables, in which the teaching subjects differs in position-quitting intention but not in job characteristic, while the rest of ones, such as different genders, different ages, different marital status, the length of time as a head-teacher, different length of teaching, and the number of lessons in a week and so on don’t significantly differ in job characteristic and position-quitting intention.
Fourthly, the different areas that schools belong to has significantly positive impact on position-quitting intention.
With controlling the demographic variables, physical and emotional exhaustion has significantly positive impact on position-quitting intention.
Fifthly, position-quitting intention and job burnout of the head teachers in high schools have positive correlation.
The higher the job burnout of the head teachers in high schools is, the stronger the position-quitting intention of them is.
Sixthly, from the relation between three dimensions of the job burnout and position-quitting intention, physical and emotional exhaustion and depersonalization with the position-quitting intention have significantly positive correlation.
While reduced personal accomplishment and the position-quitting intention have no significant correlation.
Seventhly, the job characteristic and its dimensions have significantly positive correlation with position-quitting intention of head-teachers.
In this study, the job burnout of head-teachers is not so serious, but they have position-quitting intention. Their position-quitting intention and job burnout are apparently positive correlation.
There is apparently positive correlation among working overtime, achievement pressure, role conflict, overtime requirement, safe pressure and position-quitting intention.
The position-quitting intention of the head-teachers is worth paying more attention to, once the head teachers generate the idea about position-quitting intention, the students’ study stability will be affected greatly and affect the stability and the development of the schools, so the development of the teachers’ profession and the education will be influenced by position-quitting greatly.
If we pay more attention to the head-teachers’ living conditions, study the reasons why the head-teachers leave their positions and probe into the relationship between the head-teachers’ position-quitting intention and job burnout , so it not only can provide a new perspective for the development and study, benefiting the head-teachers’ self-development in education and administration but also influence the stability of schools and promote the educational development in our country.
