? ? ? ? 李力博士是內(nèi)華達大學(xué)雷諾分校環(huán)境健康助理教授。?他和他的健康與環(huán)境評估團隊?(HEAT)?致力于開發(fā)和應(yīng)用計算模型來評估人造化學(xué)物質(zhì)如何在人類社會經(jīng)濟系統(tǒng)和環(huán)境中駐留、傳播和變化,以及它們?nèi)绾芜M入我們的身體,并引起潛在的健康問題。?他于 2017 年獲得北京大學(xué)環(huán)境科學(xué)博士學(xué)位,隨后在多倫多斯卡伯勒大學(xué)接受博士后培訓(xùn),于 2019 年加入內(nèi)華達大學(xué)雷諾分校任教。
報告摘要
Please join us for an enlightening talk by Dr. Li Li from the University of Nevada, Reno, where he will shed light on the disturbing truth about persistent organic pollutants (POPs). These chemicals have been widely used in agriculture, industry, and consumer products, but have also been found to be “hazardous” to the environment and humans because of their resistance to biotic and abiotic degradation (persistence), enrichment in organisms along the food chain (bioaccumulation), adverse ecological and human health effects (toxicity), and potential for long-range environmental transport to reach remote regions such as the Arctic (long-range transport potential). In this talk, Dr. Li Li will for the first time unveil the shocking amount of POPs that have been historically produced in the world and released into the global environment, as well as how these releases have changed over time and across different regions. He will also discuss the integration of such tonnage information with “hazard” attributes (persistence, bioaccumulation, toxicity, and long-range transport potential) in the evaluation of potential environmental impacts of POPs, POP candidates, and emerging chemicals.
