????Now that the captain would not draw nearer the island, Jackie could only row to it himself.

????"Jackie, let me go with you, I don't wanna stay on the fishy boat all along," Jade begged and held Jackie's arm.

????Jackie was not moved and refused, "No way, Jade, you stay here. Hsi Wu, watch her."

????"Oh, Jackie!"

????Lightning and thunder surrounded the island. Jackie carefully rowed the boat, avoided huge waves and lightning, and reached the island.

????"Hu." When Jackie set his feet on the soil, the dark clouds broke, the rain ceased, and the sunshine came down. He was relieved a lot. Safe on the island finally.

????"Hey, Jackie."

????Jackie righted his hat and was started when he looked back and saw Jade's smiling face, "Jade, aren't you?"

????"Looking for Hsi Wu?" Jade pretended to know nothing and dragged Hsi Wu out from behind a tree, "He's here."

????Hsi Wu was screwing water out of his clothes – as he wished, he finally used the rain to wash off the salt particles on his body and then stopped it – he also pretended to know nothing like Jade, smiling at Jackie.

????"How did you come?"

????"By stairs." Jade pointed behind Jackie.

????He found in amazement an arch bridge formed by clouds stretched from the boat to the island, which was now dissipating. It was apparently made by Hsi Wu.

????He the Sky Demon who had spent the most shameful day through thousands of years eventually picked some dignity with this bridge of cloud.

????"Oops! What if the captain saw this?" Jackie covered his head. How should he explain if the captain found out Hsi Wu could use magic?

????Mr. Captain, this is the Sky Demon. No! By that time either he or the captain would be sent to the mental hospital.

????"Jackie, the captain saw nothing. He was busy fishing."

????Now the captain sat on the stern and held a fishing rod, not moving at all like a meditating monk. A seagull was sleeping on his hat with its head tilted.

????Now that Jade and Hsi Wu had been on the island and the weather had been fine, Jackie Chan could only allow them to follow him, "Well, but you cannot leave me far."

????"Scouts promise."

????"Oh, Jade, you are not scouts."

????Many things did become easier with Hsi Wu, say, they could take a cloud in the sky to find relics rather than cut across the dense jungle. And they need not go under the rain for Hsi Wu had stopped it.

????In a glade at the center of the island, a magnificent relic loomed up before them.

????"Jackie, is this our destination?"

????Jackie's eyes lit up at it, "Yes, this is the sacred temple of this island's aborigines."

????The air in the temple was a little stifling and thick dirt covered its floor. But amazingly, no plants grew near it. Normally a temple on this kind of island should be eroded by plants and weather. But this temple had no hint of rotting either by plants or weather as if it was protected by some mysterious power.

????They walked into the temple and saw a stela in the middle of it, on which carved densely aboriginal script. A ring of white particles surrounded the stela.

????"It's salt, which people used to think could keep humans and their buildings off demons' invasion," Jackie said after he squatted and checked the particles.

????Demons are afraid of salt? Then what about the salt Hsi Wu takes every day in his meal? Oh!

????Jade's eyes made Hsi Wu kind of embarrassed. He looked at Jade and then the salt and could just spread out his hands, "Jade, I'm not afraid of salt."

????"It's of great archaeological value!" On seeing the stela, Jackie was attracted by it. He dusted its surface gently with a little brush and interpreted attentively the script.

????Feeling bored, Jade went around with Hsi Wu. Not knowing how long it had been since anyone lived here, dust was aroused by just a few steps, making Jade cough.

????Hsi Wu scorned: such a weak human body.

????Who thoroughly forgot his awkwardness in the sea.

????"It says the aborigines encountered a monster when they went out to the sea." Jackie was interpreting and recording the script, "all their boats were wrecked by the Sea Monster."

????"A valiant warrior led his kinsmen to fight against the monster. They finally destroyed it after tough battles and derived its treasure. They could control the sea thereafter."

????"But the treasure was cursed, by which the aborigines died one after another. The remaining sealed it in this temple, hoping to get rid of the curse."

????"But it seems they failed, for they have vanished for hundreds of years."

????"The treasure is…"

????Suddenly the temple shook. A while passed and it stopped.

????"Jade!"

????"Jackie, I do not know how it comes either! I just want to help you study the temple but I seemingly touched some device!"

????A stone pillar rose from the ground, on the top of which shone a colorful pearl.

????"The Black Pearl!"
