英語故事短文:我欠你一個(gè)魚漂
I Owe You for a Float
Mr Smith worked in a post office and three years ago ,when he was sixty ,he retired .Now he and his wife stay at home and his children work in another city .
史密斯先生在郵局工作,三年前,當(dāng)他60歲的時(shí)候,他退休了?,F(xiàn)在他和他妻子呆在家里,他們的兒子在另外一個(gè)城市工作。
The old woman does all housework and he has nothing to do at home .He likes neither reading nor watching games .
妻子在家包干所有的家務(wù),但史密斯卻呆家里沒啥事情可做。他既不喜歡看書,也不喜歡看球賽
At first he didn’t know how to spend the spare time .Mr Hunt who was two years older than him asked him to go fishing with him .
起初他不知道應(yīng)該如何去消磨時(shí)間。比他年長(zhǎng)兩歲的亨特先生就邀請(qǐng)他一起去釣魚。
“It’s a good sport ,”said Mr Hunt .“I’m sure you will soon be interested in it .”
“釣魚是個(gè)很棒的運(yùn)動(dòng)” 亨特說,“我保證你會(huì)很快感興趣的”
“But I can’t fish at all ,you know .”
“但我完全不懂釣魚,你是知道的”
“That’s easy .Go fishing with me tomorrow morning and I’ll teach you .”
“這個(gè)簡(jiǎn)單,你明天跟我一起去釣魚,我會(huì)教你怎么釣”
Mr Smith decided to try his luck .The following day the two old friends came to a river and began to fish .
史密斯決定去試試運(yùn)氣。接下來的日子里,這兩位老朋友去到河邊開始釣魚。
Suddenly Mr Smith said ,“How much do those little red things cost ?”
史密斯突然說:“那些小小紅色東西多少錢?”
“You mean the floats ?Oh ,they are cheap .What made you ask me such a question ?”
“你說魚漂嗎? 噢,它們很便宜。你為啥問我這個(gè)問題呢?”
“I owe you one .Mine has just sunk .”
“我欠你一個(gè)魚漂。我的魚漂剛剛沉了”
