The number of people taking their own lives rose last year for the first time since 2009, Japan's health ministry has said.
Although deaths among men fell slightly, those among women grew by more than 14% and more than 300 children took their own lives in the eight months to November.

the issue here is not about material wealth but the lack of mental health and well-being. Japan is a highly patriarchal society and there is a great deal of gender inequality. Women rarely hold positions of power in business or politics and often face harassment. Sexual assault is not taken seriously and it’s estimated that 95% of these incidents aren’t reported. Blame is often placed on the victim rather than the attacker. Sadly suicide then might be the only escape for these victims.

looking at historical data, the Spanish flu took 2 years and that was in America.
This pandemic is global. Reviewing the way world leaders managed this crisis indicates it will take longer for the world to recover. Even with vaccines, since scientists are just scratching the surface. Theres potential the virus will mutate where the vaccines are only effective for a short amount of time 3-6 months. Not taking into account new symptoms that manifest from the mutations.

Relaying on the government is secondary. Helping the people in the community you live in is the primary.
Things will get rough but if there is someone on your side, getting through together is better than alone. Especially when mental health is a large factor.
