John isn't just a respected writer, he is also one of the rare celebarity authors writing about science today.

Thanks for having me!But I'm hardly a celebrity.

That's very modest of you to say considering that your four books has sold a total of 7 million copies worldwide. And they're been translated into 12 different languages. What make people so fascinated with your work?

Well, people read my books because more than 60 percant of American are overweight. Other countries are facing the same problem.

We certainly do. I've read your new book. And it's fabulous especially when it comes to the way you make difficult science easy for layman to understand. That's no smaller achievement.

I'm glad to hear that you find my book accessible. Because I was worried when I wrote it. That discussing the science might make the book more suited for specialist audience. My last book was write primarily for medical community. But this time I want to help ordianry preople take control of their weight.

Can you give us basic of your advise to people who want to lose weight?

Briefly, I argue that every person need to consider their metabolism, eat what suits their body's needs. I don't advocate one single diet. Some people should eat more carbonhydrate than others. Different people need different amount of protein.
