Whether the role of leader is important in the organization actually relates to different kinds of organization.

In traditional organization where there is one leader and the rest part are team members ,the leader is especially important because this person sets the final destination for the team to march on.Besides, he or she is also responsible for the team morale.For example, when the team is in low spirit, it is a leader who could stand up to encourage the team members

However, in a more flat organization where the traditional hierarchy tends to downsize ,leader isn't necessary. Instead, the relationship among team members tends to be equal, which means that everyone can communicate with each other equally ,and each of them is responsible for their special role.In this kind of organization, there isn't a traditional leader. Instead, there would be someone who is responsible for the cooperation with the team members.
