There is an increasing number of advertisement that target children.
Many parents are worried that these advertisement may be harmful to their children.
However, some companies claim that their advertising provides children with useful information.
Discuss both these views and give you own opinion.

In a world where enormous advertisements fill our life ,the effects on children have raised people’s attention. While some declare that advertisement is beneficial to kids, my view, however, on the contrary is that ad has a disadvantageous impact on pupils.

People who are in favor of advertising beneficial to kids base their ground on the fact that children could get useful information form it. That is to say, through this kind of advertisements ,students can know what they need and where they can get, such as which learning materials would suit them best, and how to find them .Besides, some advertisements would create a positive image by involving famous people, which could set positive examples for kids. Some non-profit advertisements , for example, call on people to plant trees, protect environment as well as obey traffic rules often taking advantage of the influence/sensational effect from celebrities. In this way, students could be encouraged to mimic iconic behaviors so that they could develop well behaved manners. Due to such reasons, people tend to claim that advertisements could be advantageous for children.

However, advertisements could pose some threats on children’s growth. Some unhealthy information just for attracting audiences’ attention might be included in the advertisements, such as how people behave violently or anti socially could appear in media , which would increase the likelihood /possibility that kids would
commit copycat crimes and be impolite to others. This is detrimental for children’s development both mentally and physically. Additionally, in this era of increasingly fierce competition, how well kids behave academically is closely related to their future career prospects in some countries. When being exposed to /over exposing themselves/spending too much time on/ in the ads especially the ads with exaggerated or misleading content , it is likely that not only their time for study would be wasted ,but also the way how their brain function would be negatively impacted. The ads in game industry is a case to illustrate, and this is why some parents ask for the banning of this kind of ads in certain countries.

In conclusion, though advertisements have some merits on children, I personally believe that some would have malign effects so that they should be prohibited from kids.
