Well, it is true that Asian women like to use umbrellas in summer days for the sake of covering the sun.

Sunbathing and getting tanned are encouraged in west while the situation isn't the same in the east.

Asian people are fond of lighter skin compared to dark skin, especially for girls.

Also, exposures to sun would end up with wrinkles, which is also what Asian women dislike

However, in addition to all these physical factors, there is a sort of correlation with social status and from the past.

In the ancient agricultural society, pale skin is a symbol of wealth because those who are tanned usually work on the farmland while women from upper class have the opportunity to stay indoors , away from the sun.

This explains how economic status creeps into our daily taste/ aesthetic.

In the past, guys carried umbrellas as accessory.

Umbrellas could also serve as gentlemen’s arsenal along with other things such as handkerchief.

Nowadays, men would also use umbrellas when there is a torrential downpour.

However, compared to women who use umbrellas in summer, man, no matter where they are from, almost seldom use them in summer.

Imagine if there was a guy ,holding an umbrella in sunny days, he would be mostly considered as too feminine ?,which is not a praise.

In tradition, men are shaped into those who are powerful ,who can endure difficulties ,and ?they don't pay too much attention to their appearance. This explains how stereotypes affect our opinions on gender issues.

A man definitely has right to use umbrella in summer no matter what reason he holds nowadays.

Well, China is a large country with a wide variety of climate conditions. It combines a diversity of climate zones.

In the northern part of China, the latitude is as high as that of Russia. ?

Therefore in winter, it is extremely freezing with temperatures below 40 degree sometimes.

However, in the southest part of China ,as it is already close to tropical area, the weather is rather hot with intense humidity.

In central parts ,we have a distinct four seasons.

So it is impossible to say the weather in China, but the weather in specific part of China.

Well, as we live in a world where globalization ?has already shifted the way how we live ,how we communicate ,the majority of the world population tend to dress similarly.

In other words, there is not a big discrepancy in dressing no matter where you located ,which is a great achievement to some extent

However, minorities in their own places still maintain their traditional dressing.

Usually for the minorities, the way how they dress is rather complicated , with different colors and different kinds of accessories such as silver or other metal.

And they are not designed according to weather .
