周興和小時候，曾讀到過一個古老的傳說，叫做《狼拜月神》。這個故事告訴人們，在月圓的夜晚，對著月亮虔誠地祈禱，如果你能夠喚醒月神，就能實現(xiàn)你心中的愿望。

小時候的周興和，他讀完這個故事，總是百思不得其解：為什么孤傲而自尊的狼，它怎么會在草原上去拜求月神呢？書上說，狼拜月神，是因為它眼中還殘留著一個愿望；書上還說，狼拜月亮，是因為它心中還有屬于自己的理想。其實，古往今來，人們都還沒能正確地認識和評價狼這個物種。人們只知道，狼在黢黑的雨夜里，它肆無忌憚，它桀驁不馴，它藐視群雄。可誰知道，即使是在草長鶯飛的草原，在蒼穹浩渺星羅棋布的夜晚，狼卻是沒有資格停留下來去欣賞那美麗夜景的。它來到這個世界，終其一生都在為生存而搏斗，都在為果腹而拼命。它習(xí)慣了顛沛流離，習(xí)慣了風(fēng)霜雨雪，習(xí)慣了弓箭陷阱，但它從不去埋怨天地神靈，它也不臣服于任何王者猛獸，它頑強地生存著奔跑著，延續(xù)著上蒼賦予它們的生命。

那時，小興和在想，當(dāng)狼虔誠地對著月亮拜求，它那眼神是凄迷的還是堅定的？它仰天長嘯，那嘯聲會是悲切的還是高亢的呢？狼眼中還殘留一個愿望，它的愿望到底是什么？狼心中還有一個理想，它的理想又會是什么呢？沒有人知道。這個傳說只是講述了狼拜月神這件事情，只是知道狼想用一顆虔誠的心，去感動月神，去實現(xiàn)其心中的愿望和理想罷了。

夜更深了，涪江兩岸房屋里的燈光漸次熄滅了。買來的專利看來似乎并不成功，妻子的埋怨自有她的理由。失敗或許在周興和的意料之外，或許也在他的意料之中，但它失敗的原因是什么呢？冷靜下來的周興和分析到：一是這專利還不能說它是冒牌的水貨，但它致命的弱點是不能做到因地制宜，在淮南為橘，但在淮北卻為枳；二是原材料成本太高，產(chǎn)品生產(chǎn)出來后，由于價格問題而影響了市場，所以問津的人少，即使賣出去，自己也無利可圖，更談不上在市場上大面積推廣了。

首當(dāng)其沖的是，要降低原材料的成本，要生產(chǎn)出受市場歡迎價廉物美的產(chǎn)品。那么，什么原材料成本最低呢？夜風(fēng)吹拂著，撩起了他的頭發(fā)和衣衫。從小生活在農(nóng)村，曾做過讓他家茅草棚變成高樓大廈美夢的他，突然靈光一閃，首先跳進他腦際的就是那漫山遍野被農(nóng)民廢棄了的秸稈！

可，這行嗎？用秸稈作為建筑材料，據(jù)說曾有人嘗試過，但都以失敗告終。而今對他來說，這也是完全沒有先例可循的事呀——可，就是因為沒有先例可循，那搞出來就是自己發(fā)明的專利呀！當(dāng)然周興和也知道，前一兩年，有人試圖以秸稈做餐盒、水杯，用以替代泡沫餐盒和水杯，以減輕白色污染，但最終失敗。其原因一是粘合劑必然涉及化學(xué)物質(zhì),作為食品容器有著嚴(yán)格的限制；二是秸稈中殘留的化肥農(nóng)藥是無法徹底清除的；三是做出來的產(chǎn)品色澤土黃，消費者心理上不能接受。但，如果用秸稈作為建筑材料，那情形就完全不同，他們的用途有著本質(zhì)的區(qū)別，這幾種缺陷完全都可以忽略不計。

想到這里，周興和忍不住打了個激靈：蔡倫發(fā)明了造紙術(shù)，瓦特發(fā)明了蒸汽機，愛迪生發(fā)明了電燈，萊特兄弟發(fā)明了飛機，他們?yōu)槿祟愖龀隽硕啻蟮呢暙I啊！他們的發(fā)明創(chuàng)造，那價值可不是能用百億千億的金錢來計算的呀！他為自己突發(fā)的靈感而興奮，更為自己的想法而狂喜！
