在北京的兩天時間里，舉目無親流落街頭的周興和一共吃了5碗面條，睡了兩夜汽車站。在徹夜難眠的靜夜里，他一個人痛苦地思考了兩天。何去何從呢？在痛苦地思考中，他突然想起了鄧小平在南方畫了個圈的深圳特區(qū)，那里是改革開放的前沿，那里大規(guī)模的建設正需要和招攬各種人才，在那里肯定會有更多的機遇?？桑谀抢锼侨松厥?，兩眼一抹黑，怎么辦呢？

During the two days in Beijing, Zhou Xinghe, who lived alone on the street, ate five bowls of noodles and slept at a bus station for two nights. In the silence of the night, he thought bitterly for two days. Where to go? 車到山前必有路，船過灘頭自然直。自小就在苦難和逆境中摔打的周興和，他對未知的前景雖有幾分擔心，但更充滿自信。他設想，到了深圳后，可以利用自己的能力和智慧去幫人打工，而不談任何待遇問題，告訴老板只要管3頓飯就行了。他相信自己在半年之內(nèi)，就可以為老板做出成績。到那時，他可以向老板攤牌了：我是當老板的料，過去我就曾經(jīng)當過老板，如果你相信我，我可以為你創(chuàng)造更多的利潤，你的企業(yè)可以在原來獲得利潤的基礎上，再增加20%承包給我。如果老板不同意也沒關系，到那時自己已經(jīng)熟悉了深圳的情況，有了一定的成績和基礎，還可以向其他老板提出同樣的要求，總會遇到一個慧眼識人的老板——何況，身上還揣有8萬元買來的專利和眾多媒體的報道為自己作證?。?/p>

想到這里，周興和有點興奮起來，他一翻身從車站的椅子上坐了起來，他橫下一條心，第二天就趕到深圳去！

可，深圳遠在南方的廣東，就是火車也要幾天幾夜呀！自己身上腰無半文，怎么去呢？那也不用擔心，天無絕人之路，沒錢坐客車，那就偷爬貨車吧！即使沿途的警察把自己抓住了，跟他們說明情況，無非就把他趕下車來就是了。

However, Shenzhen was far away in the south of Guangdong, which would cost a few days and nights even by train! How could he go without a penny? Don’t worry, there’s always a way out. No money to take passenger vehicle, then secretly climb the truck for hitchhiking! Even if the policemen caught him along the way, he could explain the situation, and they shall just kick him off.

天一亮，周興和從北京火車站左邊方向出發(fā)，步行前往火車貨運場走去——可讓他萬萬沒想到的是，妻子劉鳳瓊很有預見性地在貨車站門口等著他！看樣子，她已經(jīng)在這里等他很長時間了。她當然知道，周興和身上沒有錢，北京又沒親戚朋友，他要離開北京，只能是偷爬貨車！

As soon as the day dawned, Zhou Xinghe set out from the left side of Beijing Railway Station and walked to the railway freight yard - to his surprise, his wife, Liu Fengqiong, was waiting for him at the gate of the freight station. It seemed that she had been waiting for him here for a long time. Of course, she knew that Zhou Xinghe had no money and no relatives or friends in Beijing. If he wanted to leave Beijing, he could only secretly climb the truck for hitchhiking!

“興和……”一見到疲憊憔悴的周興和，她就哭了起來，“我們不要爭不要吵了，我們還是一起回去，我跟你一起在鹽亭創(chuàng)業(yè)吧……”

周興和看著妻子哭泣著真誠哀求他的樣子，他心軟了下來，沉吟了一陣，他原諒了妻子：“既然這樣，那好吧，我們一起回去……”

回到鹽亭，周興和于1991年初，創(chuàng)辦了“鹽亭縣星河建材廠”。這是周興和在創(chuàng)辦企業(yè)注冊時，第一次取其自己名字諧音——“星河”，作為他企業(yè)的名字。他的釋義是：“星”乃天上之星，星辰是天宇中最燦爛的一景，是人類向往美好與未來的象征；“河”乃大地之河，水是大自然中所有生命的源泉，是生生不息奔騰不止的標志。

Back in Yanting, Zhou Xinghe founded "Yanting County Xinghe Building Materials Factory" in early 1991. This was the first time Zhou Xinghe took his own name, Xinghe, as the name of his enterprise when he found and registered the enterprise. His interpretation is: "Xinghe" is the homophonic of "star and river" in Chinese; the "star" in the sky is the most brilliant scenery in the universe, and is the symbol of human yearning for a better future; the "river" of the earth is the source of all life in nature, and is the symbol of endless succession.

當然，這個名字包涵了周興和對事業(yè)的全部追求和希望。后來，成都市西沿線有了以他企業(yè)名字命名的“星河路”和“星河南街”，非洲埃塞俄比亞有了以他企業(yè)名字命名的“星河科技園區(qū)”、三臺縣三元鄉(xiāng)也有了以他名字命名的“興和路”、“興和橋”等?！靶呛印边@個名字，逐漸為世人所識所知，進而成為一個國內(nèi)外響當當?shù)拿啤斎?，這些都是后話了，還是讓我們回到他事業(yè)初創(chuàng)時期來。

Of course, the name implies Zhou Xinghe's full pursuit and hope for his career. Later, there would be Xinghe Road and Xinghe South Street in the west of Chengdu, Xinghe Science Park in Ethiopia, Xinghe Road and Xinghe Bridge in Sanyuan Township, Santai County. The name "Xinghe" has gradually come to be known to the world and become a famous brand both at home and abroad. Absolutely, this is all for later; let's go back to the beginning of his career now.

在周興和用購買的發(fā)明專利創(chuàng)辦建材廠同時，他利用妻子劉鳳瓊自有的120平米地基，又靠從親戚朋友處籌集起來的10多萬元開始修房建廠。

While Zhou Xinghe was building the factory with the invention patent he bought, he used his wife Liu Fengqiong's 120-square-meter foundation and more than 100,000 yuan raised from their relatives and friends to construct the factory.

在修建房屋期間，從圖紙設計、購買材料，到物色工人、質(zhì)量監(jiān)督，一切都由周興和獨自承擔；而買菜做飯、保管材料、記賬核算、料理家務就由劉鳳瓊包干。在近一年的時間里，他們在一起度過了最艱難、最困苦、最貧窮的日子。由于家里缺錢買米買肉，孩子無人照料，他們就把孩子送到鄉(xiāng)下王瓊?cè)A那里。在最艱難時，他們連買米買菜都很困難了，只好回農(nóng)村老家去挖紅苕和背包谷回來度日。

During the construction period, Zhou Xinghe was responsible for everything from designing drawings and purchasing materials, to finding workers and supervising the quality. And Liu Fengqiong did all the cooking, material keeping, bookkeeping and housework. For nearly a year, they spent the most difficult, hardest and poorest days together. As the family was short of money to buy the rice and meat, and no one to take care of their child, they sent him back to Wang Qionghua in the countryside. In the most difficult time, they even had difficulty in buying rice and vegetables, and had to go back to the countryside to dig the sweet potato and carry the corn to make a living.

在建設廠房時，由于當?shù)剞r(nóng)民的嫉妒、自私和狹隘，處處阻撓刁難他們的施工。建廠時由于砍掉旁邊農(nóng)民的一根樹丫，他們說破壞了他家的風水，漫天索價硬敲詐了周興和1000多元，否則就不許他們動工；施工中一塊瓦片掉下來砸在一頭小豬身上，要叫他們賠10頭豬的價錢，其理由是母豬還要生仔豬，仔豬長大了還會生仔豬。周興和說這是頭公豬時，他們說公豬配種比母豬更值錢。這樣一件小小的事情，他們竟糾集了100多人到他廠里打砸搶，連縣委縣政府的領導幾次出面調(diào)解也無濟于事……

In the construction of the plant, because of the jealousy, selfishness and narrowness of local farmers, they obstructed their construction in many aspects. When building the factory, as a result of cutting a nearby farmer's tree limb, they said that it destructed their fengshui, and extorted Zhou Xinghe over 1,000 yuan, or they would not be allowed to start construction; during the construction, a tile fell on a piglet and they were asked to pay the price of 10 pigs, on the grounds that it was a sow, which shall have piglets and the piglets would still have piglets when they grew up. When Zhou Xinghe said it was a boar, they said a boar to mate was worth more than a sow. Such a small incident, they unexpectedly gathered more than 100 people and went to his factory to beat, smash, and loot, and even the county party committee and county government leadership mediated for several times but of no help...

“難哪！由于當時鹽亭那地方封閉落后，當?shù)厝说乃枷胗^念狹隘保守，無論做什么事情，他們平白無故都會給你制造障礙?！敝芘d和回憶道，“他們看見私人辦企業(yè)，私人修廠房，私人請人做事，這不就是私人要當老板嗎？特別是見一個農(nóng)村人要出來辦企業(yè)，有些人眼紅得都要滴出血來！”

"It’s really difficult! At that time, Yanting was a closed and backward place, and the local people had narrow and conservative minds. Whatever we did, they would create obstacles for no reason." Zhou Xinghe recalled, "They saw the individual running companies, building factories and hiring people to do things. It was a private person wanting to be a boss? Especially, when a rural people wanted to run an enterprise, some people were so jealous!"

這些困難都還罷了，最要命的是周興和滿懷希望從北京博覽會上買回的專利，在廠房建好試生產(chǎn)后，因受四川地理環(huán)境、氣候溫度等具體情況的影響，加之原材料成本較高，受當?shù)亟?jīng)濟狀況和購買力等條件限制，發(fā)明專利產(chǎn)品卻不能大批量生產(chǎn)，新開辦的企業(yè)維持起來日益維艱。盡管周興和想盡辦法，苦苦支撐，但企業(yè)的生存依然艱難，更不要說求得更大的發(fā)展了。

These difficulties were bearable; the worst of all was those patents bought back by Zhou Xinghe from Beijing Expo. After the trial production at the factory, due to the geographical environment, climate, temperature and other specific conditions in Sichuan, combined with the high cost of raw material, and the constraints of local economic conditions and purchasing power, the invention patent product could not put into mass production, and the new enterprise was difficult to maintain increasingly. Despite Zhou Xinghe's efforts, the company was still struggling to survive, not to mention to achieve greater development.

買回來的發(fā)明專利就像一粒金貴的種子，但沒有太適合它發(fā)芽生根的土壤，要開花結(jié)果當然就更困難了！望著生產(chǎn)出來但銷路不好的產(chǎn)品，連周興和自己都有些傻眼了。

The patent was like a precious seed, but without the soil suitable for it to germinate and take root, it was even more difficult to blossom and bear fruit! Even Zhou Xinghe was dumbfounded at the poor sales of the products.

“我早在北京的時候就說過，你花那么多錢買回來的就是廢紙！你不相信，這不，還是被我說準了！”妻子劉鳳瓊每當想起那買專利的整整8萬塊錢，就心痛不已。她見產(chǎn)品的生產(chǎn)銷售困難，時時氣不打一處來，這下當然有話說了，“8萬塊錢，我們一家大人小孩要過多少年哪！8萬塊錢，我的天，你要何年何月才能賺得回來呀！”

"As early as I was in Beijing, I said what you spent so much money to buy is the waste paper! But you didn't believe me. Now what? I've told you so!" His wife, Liu Fengqiong, felt heartbroken every time when she thought of the 80,000 yuan he paid for the patent. She saw the difficulty in the production and sales of products, and always got angry, of course, now she was assured and bold, "80,000 yuan is enough for the adult and children of our family to spend so many years! 80,000 yuan, my god, how long will it take you to earn it back!"

妻子的嘮叨，當然無可厚非，周興和一般情況下是低頭不語。可在他心煩意亂的時，他只好一起身，門一摔扭頭就走。

His wife's nagging, of course, was beyond reproach, and Zhou Xinghe generally bowed his head silently. But when he was upset, he just got up and walked away after slaming the door.

他不想和妻子爭執(zhí)。

He didn't want to argue with his wife.

“你沒有道理，脾氣還大得很！”妻子在后邊抹起了眼淚，聲音更是大了起來，“你欠人家一屁股賬不說，還把我倆娘母也拖了進去！你聽聽，這大街小巷的人是怎么說你周興和的？！”

周興和停住腳，回過頭來，冷冷看著劉鳳瓊。

周興和在昏黃的路燈下呆呆站了一會兒，一轉(zhuǎn)身走開了。他還是不想和妻子再爭論，免得鄰居們再看笑話。他精疲力竭，餓著肚子，心事重重地慢慢往涪江邊上走去。來到河邊，他坐在河灘的一塊石頭上，想一個人靜靜想些事情。

Exhausted and hungry, he walked slowly, and preoccupied toward the bank of Fujiang River. When he came to the river, he sat on a stone on the beach and wanted to be alone and think quietly.

江風颯颯，江浪汩汩。天色已晚，天幕上閃爍著幾顆若明若暗的星星，一塊鵝黃的月亮緩緩爬上遠處的山嵐，最后倒映在眼前的江水中。

The river wind rustled and the waves gurgled. It was late; a few stars twinkled in the sky, and a yellow moon slowly climbed up the mountains, and finally reflected in the river.
