【中英文演講稿】

The most affectionate memory of my childhood is about a round table.

我兒時最有愛的記憶的，是關(guān)于一張圓桌的。

When I was still little, my entire family would reunite on almost every traditional festival to have dinner. While the grown-ups were discussing about something……beyond our comprehension, we kids would be scuttling around or even crouching under the table to play hide and seek.

當我還小的時候，我們?nèi)視跈C會每一個傳統(tǒng)節(jié)日上團聚，共進晚餐。彼時，大人們在談?wù)撘恍?，我們無法理解的事情，我們小孩則會追逐嬉戲，甚至蹲在桌子下面，玩捉迷藏。

When I got a bit older, my aunt brought back her boyfriend, a tall and shy man and my grandma joyfully added another seat to the round table.It seemed a little bit more crowded, but we all felt closer to this new family member.

當我長大一些時，我姑姑帶回了男朋友，一個高高的靦腆的男人，我奶奶則很高興的，給圓桌又加了一個座位。圓桌似乎變得更擁擠了一些，但我們卻感覺到，我們和家庭成員更加親近了。

When I was 12, my grandpa passed away because of cancer, but when the entire family reunite once again, his chair, his bowl and his chopsticks remain the same.Even though his seat was empty, but it felt like that he had never left us. We all have a table like this in our homes. It is a symbol of the reunion of our families, representing our sentiment, and attachment to our families.

在我12歲那年，爺爺因為癌癥去世了，但當我們?nèi)以俅螆F聚時，爺爺?shù)囊巫?，碗筷仍依舊放在原處。盡管他的座位是空著的，但這讓我們覺得，他從未離開我們。我們每個人在家里都有這樣一張桌子，它是家人團聚的象征，代表著我們的情感，和與家之間羈絆。

But as a matter of fact, in china, almost everything can be solved over a round table. The marriage vows between a loving couple, the mourning of the deceased, the negotiations between business partners and a state banquet to another president from another country can all happen on a same round table. So I started wonder what is this roundtable to us, what it has been doing to us and its true significance starts to unfold in front of me.

事實上，在中國幾乎任何事情都可以在圓桌上解決。愛人間的婚姻誓言，對于逝者的哀悼，生意伙伴之間的切商，以及招待別國首腦的國宴，這些都可以發(fā)生在圓桌上。因此我開始琢磨對于我們來說，圓桌究竟意味著什么，它對我們來說，又起著哪些作用，而圓桌的真正意義，開始在我面前展示出來。

The food on the table may change with time. The people sitting beside it may come and go, the reasons why we come together may be various, but the sensation behind it remains year after year, the same.??

桌上的食物，可能會因時間而改變。桌邊的人，可能來了又走。我們團聚的原因可能形形色色，但圓桌背后的感覺，卻年年歲歲，不曾改變。

And that is our tolerance of different people, our willingness to embrace different culture and artistic forms, our care and love and respect for not only our family, but also for our community, our nation and even the whole world.

而這正是我們對于不同的人的包容，是我們擁抱不同文化與藝術(shù)形式的意愿，是我們給予家族，社區(qū)，國家，乃至整個世界的關(guān)懷，愛與尊重。

In less than two months, an annual epic migration will take place in China.?Hundreds of people, men and women, young and old, the rich and the poor, the dead like my grandpa and the alive, will find a way to go back home and go to the round table to reunite with their families.?

在不到2個月內(nèi)，一年一度的史詩級大遷徙將在中國發(fā)生，數(shù)以百計的人：男男女女，老老少少，富人與窮人，像我爺爺一樣的逝者以及在世者，都會試圖回到家中，并且走向圓桌，與他們的家人團聚。

The power that drives him to do so has been a power that has been sustaining Chinese civilization for thousands of years.And the lives of us, or even the history of our nation have been the stories of looking for a running to the round table to which we belong. The round table has been a symbol of the Chinese sensation.It was, it is and will always be. Thank you.?

驅(qū)動著他們這樣做的動力恰恰是數(shù)千年來維系著中華文明的力量。我們的生命，甚至我們國家的歷史，一直以來，便是一段段奔向圓桌歸處的故事。一直以來，圓桌都是中國式情感的象征。從前是，現(xiàn)在是，未來永遠都是。謝謝！
