一、單詞記憶

select這個單詞是由兩部分組成的，前面一部分se是“分開”的意思，這個我們可以用second這個單詞記憶一下，second表示“第二”，一分為二，所以se是“分開”的意思。后面的lect是“挑選”的意思，這個我們可以根據(jù)以前學過的collect來記憶，這個單詞前面的col是“共同，一起”的意思，后面的lect是“挑選”的意思，挑選到一起，collect就是“收集”的意思。

我們今天的這個單詞因為se是“分開”的意思，這個就是挑選后分開，這個就是“選擇，挑選”的意思。

1.choose：If you choose someone or something from several people or things that are available, you decide which person or thing you want to have. 挑選; 選擇

注意是several，choose的選擇范圍很小

2.select：If you select something, you choose it from a number of things of the same kind. 挑選; 選擇

select和choose的意思差不多，區(qū)別就是同類的，然后范圍大了一點。

He hasn't been selected for the team.

他未能入選進隊。

3.elect：When people elect someone, they choose that person to represent them, by voting for them. 選舉（牛津選必修2U2 人教選修8U1）

vote是投票的意思，所以elect這種選舉是經(jīng)過投票產(chǎn)生的，而且這里用的是people而不是像另外兩個單詞用的you，所以這種選舉是大范圍的。

He was elected by the people and is responsible for them.

他是人民選舉出來的，要對人民負責。

單詞記憶：這里的e相當于ex表示out，所以elect，選出來，就是“選舉”的意思。這個單詞的名詞是election。
