夜風(fēng)吹拂著，吹過寂寥的平原和滄桑的城郭，吹過川西的荒山和野嶺，吹過家鄉(xiāng)的竹林和茅舍，也吹過山腳下那魏河里冰涼的河水，宛若在低吟著一支古老而蒼涼的葬歌。

The night wind blew over the lonely plain and the old city, over the barren mountains and wild ridges in the west of Sichuan, over the bamboo forests and thatched cottages in the hometown, and over the cold water of the Weihe River at the foot of the mountain, as if singing an ancient and desolate funeral song.

周興和倒在血泊中時，他似乎還感覺不到什么痛苦，眼前什么都看不見，什么都嗅不到，他看到的只是像黑白電視屏幕上的雪花，白蒙蒙一片。不知過了多久，一股冷氣從頭部緩緩流到了心臟，一瞬間，他就什么都不知道了。

這一回，周興和見到了離世多年的父親母親，以及不知是不是他從未見過的年老的祖父和祖母……啊，父親母親，你們生了我養(yǎng)了我，讓我來到這個世界，把我養(yǎng)大成人，按照你們的教誨，我周興和一輩子不欺不詐不奸不驕不奢，勤勤快快做事，堂堂正正做人，可為什么會活得這么艱難哪！在周興和的記憶中，自從他降生在那個破爛的土窖，來到這個世界，這個世界似乎給予他的只有貧窮、饑餓、疾病、苦痛、煩惱、災(zāi)禍、生離、死別、血痕、淚水……并沒有給他留下幾許值得流連的東西。

2001年2月9日，由于周興和支付供貨商的材料款，沒征得妻子同意，妻子在旁人的攛掇和慫恿下，拿走了保險柜里的現(xiàn)金，又要開走廠里的1輛高級轎車，當(dāng)雙方正在爭執(zhí)時，小申姐姐的兒子突然從斜里插入，提著刀不由分說對著周興和上身連刺了幾刀！這幾刀，刺得好狠！刀刀見血，刀刀致命！經(jīng)司法鑒定，肝肺刺穿，動脈血管刺斷，失血4500毫升，屬于重傷。

見此情形，在場的所有人都猝不及防，全都驚呆了，眼睜睜看著兇手提著帶血的刀不敢上前。周興和捂住傷口，眼睛憤怒地盯住兇手，倒在了血泊中。醫(yī)院在搶救周興和的過程中，他傷口的血流如注，呼吸極度困難，心臟停止跳動15秒鐘——離奇的是，正當(dāng)搶救的醫(yī)生們在擠壓他心臟，幾乎已經(jīng)感到絕望時，他停止跳動的心臟，竟然在15秒后又重新跳動起來！

Strangely, just when the doctors were pressing his heart and almost feeling desperate, his heart beated again after stopped for 15 seconds!

“這種事情，在我們這家醫(yī)院里，恐怕還是個奇跡！”搶救他的醫(yī)生事后這樣對周興和的家人這樣說道。

其實，在妻子失蹤的幾個月里，在周興和焦急尋找妻子的過程中，重慶的朋友們就真誠地勸告過他，像他這樣由于經(jīng)濟糾紛、家人插手其中的矛盾，已經(jīng)發(fā)展到卷款失蹤這樣嚴重的程度，一般情況下是很難調(diào)和的，最好的辦法就是早點分手，免得釀成更嚴重的后果?？芍芘d和善良了一點，自信了一些，太相信他與妻子的感情，太相信他們之間的感情能夠彌合經(jīng)濟上的分歧，所以才釀成滅頂之災(zāi)。殺人的事件發(fā)生后，朋友們感嘆道：人家公開刺殺雖說刀刀見血，倒還是來在明處，你死也死得明白；假若像武大郎生病那樣，有人在你湯藥里放點砒霜之類，叫你周興和不明不白喝下肚皮，那你就死得更冤枉了。
