自周興和在《四川日報》上打出“尋人啟事”后，妻子小申這才與他通了電話，他才知道了妻子的行蹤。接到電話，周興和心急火燎地立即驅(qū)車趕到綿陽，來到岳父母家里。

But while they were talking with each other, her parents, sister and brother-in-law kept watching breathlessly and were afraid that Shen might lose out. “退一萬步講，我和小申就是不能在一起生活了，可事情總得有個了結(jié)吧？”周興和依然耐住性子，心平氣和地說道。

“你們要了結(jié)，這可以，但我們不放心！”岳母依然堅持道。

周興和在“借妻”條上這樣寫道：“今借到岳母黃某二女兒（即周興和合法妻子申某），到指定地點綿陽市富樂山公園，談心3個半小時，于當(dāng)天下午5點半以前必須歸還。借妻人，周興和?！?/p>

Zhou Xinghe wrote on the note: "I borrowed the second daughter (namely Zhou Xinghe's legal wife Shen) from my mother-in-law Huang to the designated location in the Fule Mountain Park in Mianyang City for a three-and-a-half-hour conversation. “小申哪，我們兩人是自覺自愿走到一起來的。我們之間產(chǎn)生了一些矛盾，只能通過我們自己來解決，旁邊的人看起來似乎是在關(guān)心你，但恐怕是別有用心哪！”周興和說得很坦誠，“這些日子來，每當(dāng)想起我們在鹽亭、綿陽時經(jīng)歷的那些風(fēng)雨，我覺得，我們就沒有非得要分手的必要。”

在富樂公園里，周興和給小申通談到了家庭、小孩和老人；談到了過去、現(xiàn)在和將來。他勸妻子，盡管父母對她的關(guān)心無可厚非，但也要有自己的主見，更不要受到旁人的慫恿和利用。通過幾個小時的交談，他覺得自己理解了小申的苦楚，小申似乎也理解了他的苦心。最后，周興和原諒了她拿走家里的錢、開走工廠的車、不辭而別的舉動，勸說她還是回家，回到廠里一起共同辦好企業(yè)。

In Fule Park, Zhou Xinghe talked to Shen about families, children and the elderly; talked about the past, the present and the future.
