漢語謂語譯成英語表語這種現(xiàn)象比較常見，與前面第六章“存在句型與主謂句型的

轉(zhuǎn)換”對比學(xué)習(xí)。

1. It’s an anticipation of a very thought-provoking talk. 期待一場發(fā)人深省的報告。

可以轉(zhuǎn)換為被動結(jié)構(gòu)：A very thought-provoking talk is anticipated.

2. He was the admiration of all the negros.

3. They are an expression of basic assumptions about life itself.

他們是中國人基本生活態(tài)度的反映。

4. Evil is an inheritance. 邪惡是可以遺傳的。

5. There is no easy answer to that question. 這個問題回答起來可不容易。

6. This is a brief mention. 這里簡單提一下。

7. If the neighbors I've met are any indication, many people will still drive into town

rather than commute on a crowded train.

如果可以拿我遇見過的鄰居們做代表的話，那么，許多人今后仍然會開著私家車

進(jìn)城，而不會去乘坐擁擠的城鐵上下班。

8. If my overstuffed e-mail in-box is any indication, this game of planetary

enumeration remains a deep concern of elementary school students and the

mainstream media.

如果我的被郵件塞得滿滿當(dāng)當(dāng)?shù)碾娮余]箱能表明什么的話，那就是這種數(shù)行星游戲

仍然還是小學(xué)生和主流媒體都非常感興趣的事。
