直通車記事(The Tale of KCR Express)


最近“KCR(即廣九鐵路)直通車或取消”一事引發(fā)了許多網(wǎng)友的關(guān)注,在此我來說說我的一孔之見。

Recently, one?thing went viral?on?the internet was?that?the?KCR Express has?pulled?to a?permanent stop. For that?I have a?few?comments to?offer.
作為百年列車,直通車見證了辛亥風(fēng)云、北伐烽火、抗戰(zhàn)洪流、新中國建立、改革開放后陸港兩地的交流以及新時代祖國大陸和香港的日新月異。

In operation?for more than a?century, the KCR Express survived the?Xinhai Revolution (which?led to the collapse?of the?Qing Dynasty), the first Civil Revolution from 1926-27?in China?and the founding of the?People's Republic?in 1949. It?also?linked?China’s mainland?and?Hong Kong both after the?reforms?and?opening?drive that?began in 1978 and in the new?era?after China resumed its sovereignty?over the?former?British colony?in 1997.
在我的家族歷史中,直通車也留下了獨(dú)特印記:1997年,作為“紅墻小記”的父親來港進(jìn)行回歸報道。在那里他對這座享有“東方之珠”的美譽(yù)的城市積攢了深度認(rèn)知,也留下許多友誼。1997年7月1日,他隨著許多人凝視著米字旗落下,紅旗升起。

The rail service?left its?mark on my family, too. A state affairs journalist working?for the?China?Daily, my father came?to Hong?Kong to report the handover ceremony?in 1997.

Hong?Kong, known as 'the?Pearl?of the Orient’, impressed?him, both in?terms of its economy and its city?life. On the 1st?of July, 1997, he along?with millions of people?witnessed the Five?Star?Red Flag replacing?the British color.
2010年暑假,“紅墻小記”的兒子隨夏令營來到了香港,這也是他第一次踏上這片土地?!皷|方之珠”給他留下了極為深刻的印象。唯一讓這位“小火車迷”感到遺憾的是,他沒能體驗港鐵營運(yùn)的東鐵線。這條線路從紅磡站出發(fā),沿途經(jīng)過粉嶺、大學(xué)、上水等車站,最終抵達(dá)深港邊境的羅湖口岸??诎兜牧硪粋?cè),就是深圳火車站——當(dāng)年“紅旗小記”無數(shù)次經(jīng)過的地方。

During?the?summer vacation in?2010, myself?as son?of?the journalist came?to Hong?Kong for?a?summer camp. This was the first time for me?to be here. The beauty of 'the?Pearl?of the Orient' also had?a deep impression on me, a young boy back then. Everything went well, except?that I had no chance for?a ride on the?East Line of?MTR. Main stations on this line are Honghom, Fanling, University, Sheungshui and Lowu. Across?the?Lowu Station is the Luohu Customs?and the Shenzhen Railway?Station?where my father first arrived?decades ago.

時代的車輪滾滾向前。2018年西九龍站開通,高鐵來到了香港,直通車風(fēng)華不再。2020年新冠肺炎的爆發(fā),更是讓直通車的運(yùn)營雪上加霜,如今已中斷近兩年。

(我曾經(jīng)越過高山大海,也穿過人海人海。/ I’ve crossed mountains and seas, and in crowds beyond all these. )
Time waits for no one. The Hong?Kong West Kowloon Station, which opened to traffic in 2018, brought high speed railway to Hong?Kong, and?took the KCR Express?its long-standing favor?from its audience. The pandemic?of the?corona?virus?stroke?the KCR Express harder?in 2020, putting it out?of service?ever since.

后疫情時代,直通車應(yīng)該何去何從呢?今天我偶然看到了一張香港火車迷繪制圖片,他的建議是借助聯(lián)絡(luò)線,把直通車的終點(diǎn)站從紅磡車站改為西九龍站,一來可以給旅客出行更多選擇,二來可以解決直通車在香港段與東鐵線的共線問題,讓東鐵線向城市通勤鐵路&深港交通線定位發(fā)展。

Is there?any?chance for?the KCR Express to vie for?a comeback in?the post-corona period?The answer?is obvious in a computer picture by a Hong?Kong rail?fan. And he suggested that with the KCR Express?moving its terminal station from Honghom?to the West Kowloon Station, it gets more options?for the local passengers. Secondly, not sharing the same line?with?the KCR Express, the?East Line could become?a commuter?line between?Shenzhen & Hong Kong.

我個人還有一個小小的私心:直通車是旅客列車中比較特殊的存在,因此在涂裝方面可以有更大的寬容度。藍(lán)白涂裝、紅白涂裝、甚至二次元涂裝都可以有,以此來打造鐵路文化。當(dāng)然比起涂裝,列車內(nèi)部的環(huán)境更重要。畢竟咱們不是孟加拉人,沒有買站票的習(xí)慣。

To?me,?the?KCR Express is a?vintage type of rail?service, with?larger liberty?in coach painting (including but not limited?to the Red-white feature and ACG feature) and in?developing a?'rail culture'. Of course, indoor atmosphere is more important?than the?exterior,?because at?the end of day, our?passengers?are not?climbing?to the top of the train like?in?Bangladesh!

注:自2022年5月15日,東鐵線過海段開通后的終點(diǎn)站延伸至金鐘車站,原紅磡站的地面站臺停用。九廣直通車的站臺仍處于封存狀態(tài)。
On the?15th?of?May, 2022, with?the?East Line extending its terminal?station?to Admiralty, the?KCR?halted?its service?to park?in the old ground?terminal in Honghom, till indefinite future.?
