一段時間以來，蓬佩奧先生無論走到哪里都言必稱中國，可惜他有關(guān)中國的表態(tài)充斥著謊言與謬論。

For some time, Mr Pompeo has been talking about China wherever he goes.Unfortunately his remarks are filled with lies and fallacies.

就拿他經(jīng)常掛在嘴邊的華為公司為例，美方一直聲稱華為等中國企業(yè)存在“安全風(fēng)險”，但自始至終沒有拿出令人信服的證據(jù)。

We may take Huawei for example. The US has alleged that Huawei and other Chinese companies pose security risks, but it has never produced any convincing evidence.

我們多次說過，美方以莫須有的罪名，動用國家力量、開動國家機(jī)器來打壓華為這樣一家中國民營企業(yè)，很不道德，也很不光彩，有失一個大國的水準(zhǔn)。

As we repeatedly said, it is disgraceful and immoral for the US to employ state power to target a private Chinese company on?trumped-up charges. Such behavior is beneath the country's status as a major power.

I would like to remind Mr Pompeo that other countries do not seem to buy his rhetoric. Despite the fierce crackdown by the US, Chinese companies seem to be doing very well. According to information Huawei posted on its website, the company has won 46 5G commercial contracts in 30 countries all over the world as of June 6. Among them are some US allies and European nations that the US has been working hard to persuade out of these contracts.?I will spare a certain country the heartache by not mentioning any names here.

我想，這再次說明，公道自在人心。正有越來越多的人士對中國科技企業(yè)參與本國5G建設(shè)表明客觀公正的態(tài)度，正有越來越多的國家獨立自主作出符合自身利益的選擇。

The facts have shown that justice will prevail. Indeed, more and more countries are adopting an objective and just attitude towards Chinese tech companies' participation in their 5G network development. More and more countries are making independent policy decisions based on their own interests.

蓬佩奧先生應(yīng)該懂得一個淺顯的道理，那就是滿世界造謠污蔑、煽風(fēng)點火，最終損害的只能是他個人的形象和信譽(yù)，損害的是美國在全世界的公信力。

Mr. Pompeo should understand a plain truth. That is, every?smear campaign with rumor-mongering and discord-stoking?will only whittle down further the credibility of his own and his country, the United States.

這里是用到了spare一詞的相關(guān)表達(dá)：

這個表達(dá)可翻譯為免除某人做某事，一般后面跟的都是不太好的事，諸如the trouble/difficulty/pain etc（的麻煩\困難\痛苦等），而這里則是免去某人的“扎心”，spare a certain country the heartache。

英媒：拉美國家加入力挺華為陣營

此前就有多家外媒報道，美國抵制華為5G的行動遭遇歐亞盟友的質(zhì)疑和抵抗，陷入尷尬困境。

而近日又有英國媒體報道，拉美國家也加入了反抗美國壓力、力挺華為的行列中。

文章指出，在抵制華為這事兒上，帶頭向美國說“不”的國家就是巴西。

要知道，自從巴西總統(tǒng)雅伊爾·博爾索納羅（Jair Bolsonaro）今年上任以來，巴西就一直是美國極力拉攏的對象。甚至宣布計劃給予巴西“非北約主要盟國”的地位。

但目前巴西副總統(tǒng)已經(jīng)表態(tài)，巴西沒有封殺華為的打算：

• Hamilton Mour?o, Brazil’s deputy president, said his government saw “Huawei with good eyes” while visiting Beijing with a business delegation in late May.

• “Huawei is established in Brazil and will make more investments,” he said, adding that Huawei representatives had come to his Brasília office in May to present their expansion plans.

• “華為已經(jīng)進(jìn)入巴西市場，并將加大投資，”莫朗表示，華為方面的代表今年五月已經(jīng)來到他巴西利亞的辦公室，表達(dá)了他們擴(kuò)大市場的計劃。

據(jù)報道，巴西、墨西哥和阿根廷這三個南美洲主要國家都將在今年或2020上半年決定他們是否將使用華為設(shè)備。

因此，美國也在“爭分奪秒”“苦口婆心”地勸阻這些拉丁美洲國家。今年4月，美國商務(wù)部長羅斯（Wilbur Ross）就放下狠話：

• “We don’t want very active participation of Chinese investment in Mexico, especially not in strategic projects,” said Mr Ross, according to Alfonso Romo, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador's chief of staff.

但是目前看來，美國的苦心算是白費了（appear to have come to nothing）……

文章提到，眾多拉美國家紛紛加入了“倒戈”華為的陣營。

今年4月，智利總統(tǒng)塞巴斯蒂安·皮涅拉（Sebastián Pi?era）在中國深圳與華為高管見面，表示，智利歡迎華為參加智利的5G和光纖電纜項目（5G and fibreoptic cable projects）的公共招標(biāo)（public tenders）。

而在墨西哥，一位接近總統(tǒng)的媒體人士表示：“對華為，我挑不出一點毛病?！?/strong>

• Ricardo Salinas, a media mogul close to Mr López Obrador in Mexico, said: “I have nothing but good things to say about Huawei.?I think it’s a disgrace what these Americans are doing to put them down.”

• 一位接近墨西哥總統(tǒng)洛佩斯·奧夫拉多爾的媒體大亨里卡多·薩利納斯表示：“對于華為，我挑不出一點毛病。我認(rèn)為美國對華為的打壓是非常不光彩的?！?/span>

分析人士指出，華為的5G對于拉美來說是最好的選擇。而對于拉美的經(jīng)濟(jì)發(fā)展，吸引中國投資也是非常必要的。

• Analysts say Huawei has the best equipment for 5G, adding there is no US supplier able to compete with them in Latin America. The only other viable providers are Samsung, Ericsson and Nokia, which would cost more.
