Imran Roy, Science Journalist
None. Humans would continue to rule the world regardless.
Humans have not been ruling the planet for the last 150 centuries due to intelligence alone. No my friend, it has to do with a lot more than just intellect and brains.
Here is a list of some of the critical advantages which we humans have and other creatures just don’t have at all.

3.Body posture
We humans can stand upright and can sit and lie in a variety of postures. This enables us to ride vehicles and fly aircraft. Even if other animals obtained human level intellect, they would be unable to drive a tank or fly a gunship helicopter due to their body posture.

We would simply annihilate any creature which tried to compete with us for world dominance.

Best critical analysis of my answer so far!

I think the asker did not provide enough details to make any type of reasonable answer. Are we talking about an overnight gain of human intelligence? Did they have time to fully understand what they have gained and put it to use? If this occurred over hundreds of years then your hypothetical gets thrown out the window. If we are talking about an overnight thing then yeah you are probably right.
Imran Roy
The clue lays in the word “suddenly” which appears in the question statement.

Well, to be honest, orcas, blue whales, and sharks already rule more than twice the area we rule (oceans/seas area versus dry land).
If however, it's about land only, I think in the absence of primates, it would be obvious: feline predators. Tigers, leopards, lions, and jaguars would make pacts of non-interference and continue to enjoy their reign over the herbivores.

I’m afraid you are contradicting yourself here.
At one time you say animals could develop a complex series of grunts and howls which could convey abstract ideas that are incomprehensible to humans.
And in the very next paragraph, you state that “when a tiger speaks, you LISTEN!”
Are you implying that tigers would suddenly develop human speech or would humans be able to understand those incomprehensible growls and squeaks which were previously illegible?

The sole factor that keeps monkeys from speaking is the size of their brain
If they were as smart as humans, invented a language we didn't understand, and figured out how cellphones worked. They could plan a biological attack that spans across the world. By having a few monkeys simultaneously infect the unguarded shared water sources of the poorer countries, the infection would then spread to the richer countries.
For them to have any kind of chance tho it would have to be an antibiotic-resistant superbug.
Imran Roy
Heh. You are forgetting the lovely attack helicopters my friend.
Just one of them with a few guys carrying assault rifles would be enough to wipe them all out from a whole forest within a day or two.

We’d have to know what they planned first, or we wouldn’t bother to do that. Many animals have great stealth as an attribute.

I feel that this answer assumes that the war would take place the second the rest of the animal kingdom obtained human intelligence. If given the time to create tools, machines, and weaponry that is built bespoke for their own respective anatomies then there’s no reason to believe that they couldn’t engineer their own helicopters, auto rifles, and tanks as well as their own forms of complex methods of communication.
The only way to make this war is fair to the question is to either allow time for our rivals to use their newly gained intelligence to develop their own technologies; or to strip us of our existing technology so that we all fight, with equal intelligence, without a premade arsenal of tools and weaponry. The former would be our best bet. The latter would see our very rapid demise.

you're assuming animals need to depend on modern age human science to win. Humans require that because they're weaker.
Animals don't even have to reveal that they've gained this intelligence. They can covertly plot to usurp you, and you would not even know it. Human reliance on technology is also their weakness. If your shelters get sabotaged, the state of your well being, as well as your machinery, will deteriorate. Humans cannot win in a battle of attrition against the animal kingdom.
You have to consider that if you're warring against all animals, you will have trouble keeping them as a food source. This means more resources spent on maintaining slaves as well as space and resources for plant farming, which are also extremely vulnerable to sabotage due to the strict environment required to maintain crops.
There are many other war factors where we're absolutely crippled. You would not be able to use ships, because marine life far surpasses the number of ships and torps you can muster. They will get obliterated. That means you also don't have carriers or ship transport. You can attempt to poison them and destroying your own water supply.
You can try to air transport, but even one bird kamikaze into your engine can wreck your plane. They have lots of birds and you don't have the weapons to deal with flocks. You have no transporting power, and you're defending on all fronts. Good luck with that.
Your way of thinking is just too one dimensional.

gaining intelligence doesn’t mean gaining cooperation. tigers wouldn’t work together with gorilla or any other. They would all work independently, heck, they probably go after each other, and ultimately, annihilated by humans.
re-read the question again, the asker talked about some kind of Battle Royale.

How can humans rule the world when bacteria are the holders of that title? Hell, we’re but a superorganism whose very existence relies directly upon them. And it’s not passive...we are constantly taking orders from our gut microbiome. Ever had a hankering for something particular? You think ‘you’ produced that thought? Our microbiome will chemically signal when it is in need of nutrients. Later that signal will register in our mind as a thought. We fear, and rightfully so, a (human) extinction-sized asteroid hitting us. You know who will still be here once we’re gone…asteroid or otherwise? Even rogue super-earth colliding and blowing us into pieces probably wouldn’t be enough to kill off all bacteria. Bacteria will survive. They ruled before us. The rule now. They will rule later.
