余數(shù)：

1、定義：被除數(shù)÷除數(shù)=商......余數(shù)

被除數(shù)=除數(shù)×商+余數(shù)

2、注:0<余數(shù)<除數(shù)

例1、When positive interger n is divided by 8 ,the remainder is 5 .What is the remainder when n is divided by 4 ?

A 、1 B、2 C、3 D、4 E、5

例2、Can n be divisible by 6?

(1) When positive interger n is divided by 5,the remainder is 2 .

(2) When positive interger n is divided by 4,the remainder is 3 .

A. Statement (1) ALONE is sufficient, but statement (2) alone is not sufficient.

B. Statement (2) ALONE is sufficient, but statement (1) alone is not sufficient.

C. BOTH statements TOGETHER are sufficient, but NEITHER statement ALONE is sufficient.

D. EACH statement ALONE is sufficient.

E. Statements (1) and (2) TOGETHER are NOT sufficient.

例3、What is the remainder when 478 × 296 × 351 is divided by 17？

A、1 B、2 C、7 D、11 E、13

解析：A

478，296，351除以17的余數(shù)分別為2，7和11，（2×7×11）÷17=9……1

所求余數(shù)是1。

例4、What is the remainder when 25550 is divided by 7?

A、1B、2C、3D、4E、5

解析：A

25550=81850

同余定理：8÷7的余數(shù)是1，那么81850÷7的余數(shù)是1。

例5、When positive integer x is divided by 5, the remainder is 3; and when x is divided by 7, the remainder is 4. When positive integer y is divided by 5, the remainder is 3; and when y is divided by 7, the remainder is 4. If x > y, which of the following must be a factor of x - y?

A.12 B.15 C.20 D.28 E.35

解析：E

x÷5=a....3, y÷5=b....3，x-y與3-3關(guān)于5同余，余數(shù)是0，所以x-y是5的倍數(shù)。

x÷7=c....4, y÷7=d....4，x-y與4-4關(guān)于7同余，余數(shù)是0，所以x-y是7的倍數(shù)。

所以x-y的值應(yīng)該既然是5的倍數(shù)，也是7的倍數(shù)。
