這一部分這位老師在講 the chosen這本書描述美國名校選拔學(xué)生的標(biāo)準(zhǔn),比如說哈佛之類的常春藤從最初的家族血緣,到地理分布,到后來根據(jù)申請者品質(zhì)選拔人才,其中體育作為提現(xiàn)品質(zhì)的一個重要標(biāo)準(zhǔn)被大學(xué)所重視還有領(lǐng)導(dǎo)力,課外活動,但這些東西所占的比例是非常主觀,為了實現(xiàn)學(xué)生群體的多元。即使是在加州大學(xué)系統(tǒng)這樣的公立學(xué)校,根據(jù)學(xué)生家庭收入的眾數(shù),學(xué)校等級也可以按層級進行劃分,UCLA、UCB,到州立大學(xué),再到社區(qū)學(xué)院。中上階層可以將他們的社會地位轉(zhuǎn)移到下一代。永恒的發(fā)現(xiàn)是,美國大學(xué)精英化嚴(yán)重,越有名的大學(xué),有錢人家的孩子越多,這個研究結(jié)果是可以經(jīng)得起時間和區(qū)域考研的。

We are able to read the context, and this ability to know what is the right answer, at the right moment, at the right place, at the right time, is partially taught in school.
