香檳問題，其實(shí)就是凡爾賽問題——一般人難以擁有的煩惱，比如有的人抱怨自己的頂級(jí)香檳口感還是不夠好。

Taylor說，這首歌講的是兩個(gè)大學(xué)就相愛的戀人的故事。有一天晚上，他倆有截然不同的打算。

Midas touch，國王麥得斯的點(diǎn)金術(shù)，國王麥得斯救了酒神狄俄尼索斯的老師———老山神西勒諾斯，并把老師送回給狄俄尼索斯。狄俄尼索斯為了表達(dá)自己的感激，決定滿足彌達(dá)斯一個(gè)愿望，麥得斯便請(qǐng)求賜給他點(diǎn)金術(shù)，讓他所觸及到的一切東西都變成黃金。

麥得斯沒有想到的是，比起祝福，這更像是一個(gè)詛咒。所有他碰到的事物——就連食物、美酒、仆人都變成了黃金，讓他又饑又渴，陷入絕望。

從此，Midas' touch便指點(diǎn)石成金的能力，如果你說a man with the midas touch, 那就是說這個(gè)人做什么都能賺錢，很有賺錢的本事。

另外，這里之所以會(huì)說到dorm,是因?yàn)門aylor說了，這是一個(gè)關(guān)于兩個(gè)自大學(xué)就相愛了的戀人的故事，所以這個(gè)場(chǎng)景是在講他們當(dāng)時(shí)關(guān)于宿舍的對(duì)話。

deck the halls 裝點(diǎn)大廳，是人們?cè)谑フQ節(jié)常做的事。所以，Taylor用這個(gè)短語來說，到了圣誕節(jié)時(shí)，朋友們會(huì)不再小心翼翼，不敢改動(dòng)關(guān)于女主的東西，比如那個(gè)曾一起走過的大廳，這個(gè)圣誕節(jié)，他們將隆重地重新裝點(diǎn)一番。
