對于中國人而言，英文真的很扯淡！發(fā)音相似、拼寫相似的情況是不計其數(shù)，這云里霧里的節(jié)奏，常常把本編弄得暈頭轉(zhuǎn)向、摸不著頭腦

這不，剛解決完before/after/since的考點，till/until又來搗亂了。今天小編我一定要拔了它們的考點，以泄心中之憤。


總的來說，till和until同義，意為“直到...時，till多用于非正式文體。

1.?與肯定句連用，表示“做某事直至某時”，動詞必須是延續(xù)性的。例如：

I slept until (till) midnight.

Wait until (till) I call you.

He will remain in college until (till) he finishes his Ph.D course.

在上面三個例子中，句中的sleep, wait, remain都是延續(xù)性動作，till/until與肯定句連用。


2.?與否定句連用，表示“直至...才...”，動詞是非延續(xù)性的。例如：

I won't go with you until (till) I finish my homework.

He didn't arrive until (till) half past four.

Don't stop until (till) I say so.

在上面三個例子中，句中的go, arrive, stop都是非延續(xù)性動作，till/until與否定句連用。


3.?Not until 位于句首，主句要部分倒裝?。?！例如：

Not until 4:00 in the morning?can he fall asleep.
=He can’t fall asleep until 4:00 in the morning.

Not until he returned?did we have?supper.
=We didn’t have supper until he returned.

Not until I was fired?did I realize?how much time I had wasted.
=I didn’t realize how much time I had wasted until I was fired.


4.?not until可用于強調(diào)句：It is/was not until…that…結(jié)構(gòu)。

It was not until I called her from behind that she found me.

It is not until 4:00 in the morning that he can fall asleep.

It was not until I was fired that I realized how much time I had wasted.


注：until/not until置于句首、以及在強調(diào)句型中，都不能用till替換until。

Till I was 20 I had never been away from my hometown. （??）

It was not until 4:00 in the morning that he came back. （??）

It was not till 4:00 in the morning that he came back. （??）

肯定句：動詞必須是延續(xù)性動詞；

倒裝句：not until 放句首時，主句要部分倒裝；

強調(diào)句：It is/was not until…that…句型。
