? ? ?The question of the demand for world change gose back to a much quoted sentence of Karl Marx in Theses on Feuerbach. And I want to quote it precisely and read it out:The philosophers have only interpreted world in various ways, the point, however,is to change it.
In citing this sentence and by following this sentence, one overlooks the fact that a world change presupposes a change in the conception of the world, and that a conception of the world can only be acquired by an adequate interpretation of the world. That is,Marxs relies on a very specific interpretation of the world in order to demand his change. And therefore, this sentence reveals itself to be unfounded. It gives the impression that philosophy has been decidedly spoken against, while in the second part of the sentence, the unspoken demand for philosophy is presupposed.
