【雅思口語 1-4月】居住地的發(fā)展 ? Describe a new deve

Recently quite a lot of pocket parks?have been cropping up?in the city I live in. I first knew this last year when I was?scrolling through the social media feeds and then I came across this post?saying hundreds of pocket parks were being built across the city. The name “pocket park”?made an impression on me because it sounded way too cute.
?
Then flash forward to?months later, after I’d run some errands, I decided to?take a stroll?around the neighborhood?and that’s when I spotted?a beautiful mini park nestling?next to the residential buildings.
?
I remember it being a warm Sunday afternoon. Some kids were out playing hopscotch?and climbing?on monkey bars. Grandmas were chatting away?while sitting on the wooden bench, with huge grins?on their faces. New exercise equipment?scattered around?the entire green space lined with?some newly grown vegetation. It’s just such an oasis?amid the hustle and bustle of the city.
?
I really have no idea how long it took to complete it though. I could only remember it once being this abandoned place covered in weeds almost a year ago. So I’d guess it took no more than a couple of months, since it’s not exactly a huge construction?project, judging by the size. But I really can’t say for sure.
?
The way I see it, the pocket parks make a pleasant change! They’re the perfect place to?take a walk, get close to nature?and spend some quality time with family and friends. Especially after the horrid quarantine, I think citizens do need a hangout spot?like this to?socialize?and engage in outdoor activities.
