????????英語(yǔ)的“evoke”是不是從法語(yǔ)借來(lái)的呢？專(zhuān)家們似乎沒(méi)有定論。

????????但“évoquer/evoke”這一對(duì)同源詞肯定都來(lái)自拉丁詞“evocare”，這個(gè)詞是由前綴“ex-”和詞根“vocem /vox”（聲音）組成的——“ex + vocare”就是“召喚，引誘” （call out，lure, entice out）啦。

????????說(shuō)來(lái)，英/法語(yǔ)中，凡是含有“voc /vok /voq”等構(gòu)詞成分的詞，大都與“聲音”有關(guān)——追根溯源，他們的“共同祖先”都是原始印歐語(yǔ)(PIE)詞根“*wekw-”：“發(fā)聲，說(shuō)話”（give vocal utterance,speak）。同源詞很多啦。例如：梵文的“vakti”（speaks, says），巴利語(yǔ)的“vaca”（word），希臘語(yǔ)的“epos”（word），英語(yǔ)的“vocal, voice, vocabulary, vocation, vocative，convocation, provocation”, etc.

注意：英語(yǔ)和法語(yǔ)對(duì)應(yīng)的一組動(dòng)詞：

????????但要注意：英語(yǔ)的“evoke” 的主語(yǔ)僅限于“非生命”的東西，如：一段旋律，一股味道，一個(gè)詞等。它們會(huì)引起對(duì)往事的回憶，且常帶有懷舊的色彩。（Le verb “to evoke” (=rappeler) ne s’emploie qu’avec un sujet inanimé, plus particulièrement, il s’emploie lorsqu’un air de musique, une odeur, un mot fait surgir des souvenirs, des images, souvent accompagnés d’un sentiment de nostalgie.）
