Disappointedly while factually ,the shift has not taken place in?the academic expectation from parents towards their children?with the result that?an increasing number of teenagers have been?victimized by the combination of academic stress and their parental stress. This essay would shed lights on the reasons and compare the merits and demerits.
?
How a kid performs in his academic study ,in some countries ,is highly emphasized due to the fact that their grades and credentials are closely related to their future career prospects.?Specifically?,those who could get high scores and be listed in top students would be more likely to expose to good job opportunities with competitive salaries as well as other benefits and they may?,therefore, start their career at a higher level.?Compared to?the academic well behaved students , others who are not advantageous at exams may have to accept the brutal truth -that is -the access to well-paid jobs could be sometimes closed, accepted or not, even though they are talented in other aspects.?Not only does?the scores-jobs-related reality poses unbearable burden on students ,it also curbs parents 's throat because no parents would like to see their kids fail at the exams in school ,not to mention lose the following job hunting opportunities when graduating ,accordingly ,the competition on education investing which is called as “fumeless war” is triggered among parents .This double pressure?,as I analyzed above ,both from the reality and from parents 's expectations ,sometimes , would stifle kids.
In order not to?disappoint their parents and win a bright future for themselves, the adolescent have to , willingly or unwillingly, sacrifice nearly all their spare time ,devoting themselves into endless exams and score competitions. Even though?students have no excuses to shed the responsibility of study and obey the rules in school, creativity, being the most valuable and important wealth a young person is supposed to have ,is drained away by repeatedly mechanic work for grades to some extent.?In terms of?the detrimental effect, the possibility of creativity draining being one , the other is the lose of teamwork practice with other peers , which would prepare them the experience of emerging into adulthood. By extension?, as life is a long journey ,only the candidates who could easily involve in a new environment and cooperate swimmingly with others could tend to have stable development in a cooperation .?Besides?, using scores as the only tool to rank and evaluate a student, psychologically , would increase the possibility of self -doubt of students; and accumulatively ,grow into some mental problems as they grow up.
What it boils down here at this moment ,is?it comes to the time when we have to reconsider the essence of education and what a student can get through schooling?Should we enslave them into grades machines ? or??on the contrary?,fill their memory with creativity and the moments interacting with friends, among which ,the most important factor that could not be ignored is being happy ,happy learning .
