羅剎國向東兩萬六千里

Passing Qichong and crossing Jiao Sea, he reached the three-square-inch yellow mud land,

Just because there is a Yiqiu River.

河水流過茍茍營

The river flows through Gougou Ying

茍茍營當家的叉桿兒喚作馬戶

（譯者注：叉桿兒，淫媒，俗稱拉皮條者。）

The procurer in charge in Gougou Ying is called Mahu.

十里花場有渾名

（譯者注：花場，指風(fēng)月場。風(fēng)月場，指情場，但多指妓院。）

He has a nickname in brothels.

她兩耳傍肩三孔鼻

She has two touching-shoulder ears and a three-hole nose.

未曾開言先轉(zhuǎn)腚

Before speaking, she always turns her butt.

每一日蹲窩里把蛋來臥

Every day she squats down in the nest to hatch eggs.

老粉嘴多半輩兒以為自己是只雞

（譯者注：雞的中性英譯是chicken，但其實這里所指的應(yīng)是母雞，英文應(yīng)是hen。但從歌中使用的人稱代詞看，刀郎在這個問題上似乎有點混亂，一會兒用他，一會兒用她。不知是否故意而為之。為了行文方便，雞我用了中性詞。但人稱代詞我用了她。）

For most of her life, this pink-beat old bird thinks she is a chicken.

那馬戶不知道他是一頭驢

That Mahu doesn’t know he is actually a donkey.

那又鳥不知道他是一只雞

While that Youniao doesn't know she's in fact a chicken.

勾欄從來扮高雅

（譯者注：宋元時期演出雜劇、百戲的場所，多為欄桿搭起的大棚，故稱。后泛指劇場；也指妓院。這里可以理解成娛樂節(jié)目。諷刺的是在娛樂節(jié)目里一些有影響力的人裝得很高大上。）

Persons in brothels always pretend to be elegant.

自古公公好威名

Eunuchs have always loved good reputations ever since ancient times.

打西邊來了一個小伙兒他叫馬驥

A young man came from the west and his name is Ma Ji.

美豐姿 少倜儻 華夏的子弟

Young, romantic and suave with a dignified appearance, he is a Chinese descendant.

只為他人海泛舟搏風(fēng)打浪

Just because of rafting over the sea of faces and fighting wind and waves,

龍游險灘流落惡地

He strayed into the land of sin like a dragon wandering in a dangerous shoal.

他見這羅剎國里常顛倒

He found things are always turned upside down in this Rakshasa Kingdom.

馬戶愛聽那又鳥的曲

Mahu donkey loves to listen to the songs of Nayou bird.

三更的草雞打鳴當司晨

The hen in midnight actually crows to report the dawn.

半扇門楣上裱真情

The true feelings are put on a lintel of a half-door.

它紅描翅那個黑畫皮

There are red painted wings and black painted skin,

綠繡雞冠金鑲蹄

With a green embroidered cockscomb and gold inlaid hooves.

可是那從來煤蛋兒生來就黑

But coal balls are black in born.

不管你咋樣洗呀那也是個臟東西

No matter how to wash and wash, they are still dirty things.

那馬戶不知道他是一頭驢

That Mahu doesn't know he is a donkey.

那又鳥不知道他是一只雞

That Youniao doesn't know she is a chicken.

豈有畫堂登豬狗

How can a pig or a dog be allowed to rush into a painted hall?

哪來鞋拔作如意

How can a shoehorn be used like a jade-ware Ruyi?

愛字有心心有好歹

The structure of the character of love contains a character of heart but a heart can be good or bad.

百樣愛也有千樣的壞

A hundred kinds of love also have a thousand kinds of badness.

女子為好非全都好

The character of woman and that of son can form a character of good by being put together.

But that doesn’t mean everything is good.

還有黃蜂尾上針

And there is also the needle on the tail of a wasp.

西邊的歐鋼有老板

（譯者注：西邊的歐洲有個鋼鐵企業(yè)，它有個老板生了個兒子名叫做維特根斯坦。據(jù)說這個老板真有其人。他是個哲學(xué)家，說了些很有道理的名言。）

In the west, there is a steel company in Europe.

生兒維特根斯坦

Its boss has a son named Wittgenstein.

他言說馬戶驢又鳥雞

He said something about Mahu donkey and Youniao chicken.

到底那馬戶是驢還是驢是又鳥雞

Is Mahu a donkey or is a donkey a Youniao chicken?

那驢是雞那個雞是驢那雞是驢那個驢是雞

That donkey is a chicken and that chicken is a donkey. That chicken is a donkey and that donkey is a chicken.

那馬戶又鳥

That Ma Hu donkey and You Niao chicken

是我們?nèi)祟惛镜膯栴}

Are the fundamental problem of our mankind.
