????????中國人的文化中，生日除了吃生日蛋糕之外，生日宴上還會有一道菜，那就是面。但是，它通常只有一根卻很長很長的面——人們也叫它長壽面。這一習(xí)俗相傳與漢武帝有關(guān)。據(jù)說在一次宴會上，為了化解尷尬，一個叫做東方朔的智者告訴漢武帝，之所以彭祖能活800歲，是因為他臉長，宴會上的面條甚至比彭祖的臉還要長，正是廚師對漢武帝長壽的美好祝福。漢字“面”又有“臉”的意思，“臉長即面長”，于是人們就借用長長的面條來祝福長壽。漸漸地，這種做法演化成了生日吃面條的習(xí)慣，并傳承了下來，稱之為吃“長壽面”。在·傳統(tǒng)習(xí)俗中，長壽面之所以是一根面條，是對長壽的美好祝福，吃的時候最好不要弄斷。同時，人們還習(xí)慣于加上一兩個荷包蛋（fried-poached egg），象征著新的一歲中將好運團團包圍。
