The Dragon Boat Festival, originated in the Spring and Autumn Period(770-476BC) and the Warring States Period(475-221BC), falls on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month every year.

端午節(jié)起源于中國春秋戰(zhàn)國時期，為每年農(nóng)歷五月初五。

The Dragon Boat Festival, with a history of 2000 years, together with the Spring Festival, the Qingming Festival, the Mid-Autumn Festival, became the most important traditional festival of the Chinese nation.

至今已有2000多年歷史，和春節(jié)、清明、中秋一起成為中華民族當(dāng)前最重要的傳統(tǒng)節(jié)日。

大家好，我叫趙俊然。我來自淮西小學(xué)五年級六班。我喜歡架子鼓、閱讀，更喜歡英語。今天我來和大家聊一聊端午節(jié)。

In ancient time, there was a great poet called Qu Yuan.

He couldn't bear the anguish when his mother land was invaded, so he drowned himself in the river.

Local residents rode boats to salvage and drop the rice balls into the river to distract fishes' attention from Qu's body.

Later people memorialised Qu's patriotism by rowing and making Zongzi on the Dragon Boat Festival, Duanwujie.

That's how the tradition of dragon boat racing and eating Zongzi were started.

A nation practice on Duanwujie is to put wormwood on the front door to repel evil things. In some places people drink realgar wine and children wear sachet.

Now the family gets together on Duanwujie. Nowadays people have a variety of other activities to celebrate this traditional festival.

在中國，有一位偉大的詩人叫屈原。他不忍看到祖國被侵略，投江而死。當(dāng)?shù)匕傩談澊瑩凭?，為保護他的身體還投米團來吸引魚。后來人們?yōu)榱思o(jì)念他每年端午節(jié)都會劃船、包粽子。就有了賽龍舟和吃粽子的習(xí)俗。古時端午節(jié)的風(fēng)俗是在門口掛藥草以預(yù)防疾病驅(qū)除不好的事情。有些地方還喝雄黃酒（藥酒），小孩子戴香包?，F(xiàn)在過端午節(jié)時，常常是一家人團聚在一起?，F(xiàn)在人們過端午節(jié)時還會以其他各種方式來度過這個傳統(tǒng)節(jié)日。
