In the case of elaborate tower, I support the second elaborate tower is different?? built by the father with the original one built by his son. However, the repaired watch is same with the original one.

We can define the watch by its appearance function and tool function (the remaining one is intrinsic value). Appearance function is obvious how is look like, can be observed straightforwardly, such as its color and material and size so forth.? Tool function is how can it to be used or how it will be expected to use to generate utility. From this prospective, we can analyze the whole process. Just when the watch is broken down or running out of energy, it is no longer operating at a normal condition. Now, it cannot be used watch time normally and it is not same as before because it stopped working, and tool function is not same as before. And in order to clean it and fix it, repair it, what the owner does is he ask jeweler to takes it apart.? And jeweler cleans all the pieces and buffs them and polishes them and refresh the electric energy and then reassembles the whole thing. Maybe he changes some old and broken element insignificantly. Well, all well and good. Now it is another watch compared with the broken one. However, the most important thing is whether repaired watch is the same one with the original one. If the repaired watch is look not different with the original one, whatever its size, quality, color so forth and so on. ?Jeweler did not scratch a line and protect it very well. Test one is pass. Now if the “repaired one” is repaired which mean it can work as usual, each second is showed accurately. Besides, the other function, for example the compass grid is working so well. The test two is pass. ?As owner is use the money to exchange the tool function, there is no intrinsic value generate. The intrinsic value is same and test three is pass.

Second case is elaborate tower . Image the scenario ? the son builds a tower out of wooden blocks at home and the tower is an elaborate one and impressive. ?The son want to show this “achievement ” ?to his mom. However, his father knocks over the tower unintentionally. ?The father put them back together, building a tower in the very same shape and the very same structure as before. ?Now, the question is whether the tower is the same one with original one? From the appearance view, as the father rebuild the tower with the same shape and structure, so the tower is looked same. ?And the original tower is used to show to boy’s mom to tell how clever he is and the he does the “great job”. As the father rebuild it and it very same tower that the sun built.? Test two is pass.? What is difference between the rebuilt one with the original one? ?The tower rebuilt has additional value. The father is self-motivated to cover the tower and protect his son the " achievement” which is require more self-esteem and respect(love) to his son. In fact, the father could choose do nothing and let tower down. And when the mom come back and pointing out the “ruin” and explain to mom that our son has done a wonderful wooden blocks tower and say some sorry words to his sons. As the father rebuild the tower and protect the tool function of the tower which put more value to the tower. The rebuilt tower represents (may be not ranking first place but some place) some self-respect and honor. Unlike the watch case, the ??jeweler is motivated by the money and more “passive” so the watch just has no any additional value. On the contrary, the father is passive and motivated by “free”, so the tower has extra. ?So the rebuilt is different from the original one in intrinsic value prospective.
