Although there are still possibilities to subscribe and purchase SIM care in grocery stores like 711, this new situation has again indicated the importance of backup duplicate BankID in multiple devices, in case of losing or resetting the mobile phone.
Therefore, this short post is composed. The targeted reader would be the mobility program students currently in Sweden, have obtained the personnummer & ID, and will leave for study outside Sweden between six months to one year.

Since ICA Banken refused to re-validate BankID for their customers in 2021, the significance of duplicate?BankID?backups has attracted great attention. For mobility students scheduling short-term study outside Sweden, a continuously available BankID would be appreciated if return to Sweden for work or stay after short-term studies, especially to avoid the risk of void bank or account logins if?BankID was?lost or a mobile phone was stolen.
The backup of BankID is quite simple, it just requires an installation of the BankID app on other devices, such as another phone, tablet or PC. Then the settlement of BankID on this new device would run smoothly where?existing BankID on the current mobile phone would be rendered to scan?the new QR code from?the?new BankID device.
Freja eID+:?https://frejaeid.com/en/registration/
For fellow students with Swedish personnummer and?Skatteverket ID but no Swedish bank or BankID, Freja eID+ could be a suitable replacement. Similarly, for BankID holders, this Freja eID+ could work as another backup for Swedish electronic identifications.
Most public departments and offices accept Freja eID+ as a method of identification, including the?Skatteverket Tax Agency and the 1177 public health system. However, some private enterprises still solely request the BankID on their website.
The application of?Freja eID+ consists of three main sections:
1, Download the?Freja eID app;
2, Sign up for a new account with a password, take a selfie, and scan the Skatteverket ID; After this section the?Freja eID without + is available.
3, Visit one of the cooperative partners of?Freja eID+, such as the ATG counter, physically, and finish the final validation of?Freja eID+. After this section, the?Freja eID+ would be ready for online electronic identification.
Do not forget to duplicate?Freja eID+ on the rest of your devices as backups!??
