[Before Leaving Sweden] Setup Digital Box for receiving letters
In Sweden and some other EU countries, the digital box is widely employed to receive the paper letter in electronic forms instead, where the dispatch is much faster, the papers are saved, and online signatures could be integrated.
For mobility program students who are leaving Sweden and heading to their exchange destination or next university, with a valid BankID, letters from public entities and government departments can be received online with a digital box. Therefore, the risk of missing important letters after leaving Sweden would be eliminated.?
(Note: Digital Box receive letters in electronic format rather than printed paper format, but it’s not relevant with email)
The digital box provider in Sweden are:
Kirva:?https://kivra.se/en/private?, most frequently used;
e-boks:?https://www.e-boks.com/sverige/en/log-in/;
Digimail:?https://digimail.se/#start?;
Min myndighetspost:?https://www.minmyndighetspost.se/?,?built by Swedish Government and receive governmental letters. Though with limited range, this digital box is the only platform that accepts electronic identifications other than BankID, such as the?Freja eID+;
After login, all the letters sent to you (direct to your personnummer) will be present on the digital box main page.
For example, with the Kirva that the author uses, there are digital letters from creditsafe where notice of personal information usage are sent, and from Skatteverket Tax Agency where address amendments are made (it’s also possible to sign the document within Kirva). Because all the senders are included in the personal Kirva account by default setting, if there are letters from migrationsverket or health system in future, the Kirva could also automatically receive them. When a new electronic letter arrives, the recipient could also be informed by SMS or email by the Kirva.
