El Tao Te Ching es un libro fundamental de la civilización china y uno de los mayores tesoros de la espiritualidad universal. Explica las leyes generales de la naturaleza y el funcionamiento social, aboga por una forma de vida pacífica y empática, y guía a los lectores por "el gran camino" a través de aforismos breves, que proponen la coexistencia armoniosa en el universo. Su influencia ha atravesado casi todos los aspectos de la cultura china e incluso, toda Asia oriental.
Para el fotógrafo espa?ol Santiago Barrio, el Tao Te Ching a veces, resulta misterioso y profundo, a veces claro y minucioso, pero siempre lanza una se?al entre líneas para despertar la verdadera percepción del ser humano y su relación inseparable con el mundo. Barrio interpreta a los antiguos sabios con su lente, y a través de objetos de la vida cotidiana, se expresa de manera inusual, usando la paradoja para abrir una brecha en la barrera de nuestro pensamiento. Esas palabras abstractas y contradictorias escritas hace más de 2.000 a?os se han convertido aquí en ricos materiales creativos sin salir del ámbito fotográfico.
El Tao Te Ching lo abarca todo. Es difícil encontrar para cada capítulo de los ochenta y uno que lo componen una expresión visual, que exprese la sabiduría del Tao. El artista Santiago Barrio ha sabido superar, con inspiración, esta dificultad y ha creado una obra que más que definir, evoca, manteniendo la atención del espetador.
En esta ocasión, tenemos el honor e invitar al calígrafo Tui Shan a escribir con su exquisita pincelada algunos capítulos del Tao Te Ching, y completar el diálogo entre imagen y caligrafía.?? Returning is the movement of the Tao


The Tao Te Ching is a fundamental book of Chinese civilization and one of the greatest treasures of universal spirituality. It explains the general laws of nature and social functioning, advocates a peaceful and empathic way of life, and guides readers through "the great way" through short aphorisms, proposing harmonious coexistence in the universe. Its influence has traversed almost every aspect of Chinese culture and even all of East Asia.
For the Spanish photographer Santiago Barrio, the Tao Te Ching is sometimes mysterious and profound, sometimes clear and detailed, but always sends a signal between the lines to awaken the true perception of the human being and his inseparable relationship with the world. Barrio interprets the ancient sages through his lens, and through everyday objects he expresses himself in unusual ways, using paradox to breach the barrier of our thinking. Those abstract and contradictory words written more than 2,000 years ago have become rich creative materials here without leaving the photographic realm.
The Tao Te Ching encompasses everything. It is difficult to find a visual expression for each chapter of the eighty-one that compose it, which expresses the wisdom of the Tao. The artist Santiago Barrio has been able to overcome this difficulty with inspiration and has created a work that more than defines, evokes, keeping the viewer's attention.

On this occasion, we have the honor and invite the calligrapher Tui Shan to write with his exquisite brushwork some chapters of the Tao Te Ching, and complete the dialogue between image and calligraphy.
