The Interviewer:

-Welcome to the interview, Richard. Can you start off and tell me about yourself?

The Candidate:

• ?Tip #1. Start off and thank the interviewer for giving you the opportunity to be interviewed for the position. This shows good manners.

-Well thank you very much for giving me this opportunity to be interviewed for the position today.

• Tip #2. Tell the interviewer the type of person you are. (Good words to use here include positive, self-motivated, driven, trustworthy, and resilient.)

-My name is Richard and before I applied for the role, I read the job description carefully to make sure that I could contribute to your team. I would describe myself as someone who is diligent, industrious, and I have a diverse set of skills that I believe will add value to your organization. I am an excellent communicator.

• Tip #3. Now tell the interviewer about some of the previous work roles you have held, and how they are relevant to the job you are applying for.
• Tip #4. Next, tell the interviewer you have a proven track record of achievement and give one previous example of this.
• Be a brilliant storyteller!

-I always take ownership of difficult challenges and I will always seek to improve so to give you an example of where I always try to improve in a previous role. I was concerned about how much office waste there was in the organization, so I did a little bit of research, and I came up with an idea that was designed to streamline the office ordering process. I put forward that idea to my manager, he agreed to implement it and we managed to save the organization more than two thousand dollars a year based on my idea. ?

Tip #5. Finish off and tell the interviewer what you will do in the role if they hire you!

I am a positive person, and I am also the type of employee who will always see opportunity in difficult challenges and if you choose to hire me over the other candidates. I promise you I will always have a can-do attitude. I will be a positive role model for your company whilst dealing with clients and customers and I will be the type of person who will always embrace change positively to ensure your organization maintains its position as a market leader.

So I applied for this position primarily because I’m very attracted to your organization. You are forward thinking. You are innovative and you have a set of values that are a strong match for my own. My key selling points include the fact that I’m a fast learner. I need little supervision or monitoring moving forward. I'm trustworthy, loyal and I guarantee I will always take care of your customers and your clients. I would describe myself as someone who is innovative. I’m creative and I will always try to come up with solutions to problems that can hold your company back. So to give you an example of when I have demonstrated this in a previous role. I was concerned about a supplier who I didn't believe had the same standards as my employer so instead of going straight to my manager I did some research. ?I looked into this problem, and I found an alternative supplier that was more cost effective and that promised to deliver higher standards. I then put forward my proposal to my manager and she agreed it was a great idea. We implemented it and customer service standards increased significantly. ?So I’m the type of person who will look out for problems and I will take positive action to try and resolve them if you hire me I will always take care of your business and I will work hard to make sure that your company maintains its position as an industry leader.

I'm adaptable and I will help out the company in its times of need and I am I believe an all-rounder I will come up with creative ideas to help your organization move forward and I believe I’m the best candidate that will give you a significant return on your investment if you choose to hire me.
