A Study on Ethnic Chinese Students Learning Adaptation and Its Management from the Perspective of Learners Identity????
Background:
Ever since the beginning of the 21st?century, the world has experienced a new round of immigration.
One of the representative groups is the immigrants of international education, which has become a main way of immigration together with the immigrants of investment and those of technology.
The problem of cultural adaption of immigrants studying abroad is gradually becoming one of the more focused subjects in both academic field and practical field, while identity construction is one of the cultural forces to study how immigrants study abroad cross-culturally, live, adapt and integrate into a foreign country.
What:
With the nurture of the cultural essence among overseas Chinese and the continuous development of higher education in China, more and more ethnic Chinese students choose China as their destination to further study, with which comes the problem that ethnic Chinese students construct their learning adaptation identity and culture learning adaptation in their “motherland” China as well as the problem of management?mechanism based on the college learning and adapting education.
As for the elements of the cause, process and outcome of the former, and the generation, reform and regulation of the latter, it is full of theoretical and realistic significance to discuss about the management system?problems involved in it.
How:
The basic idea of this study is: theory preparation (key word interpretation) – questions context (theories reflection and context interpretation) – social shaping (the paradigm of learning adaptation and the construction of learning identity) –practical category (interview research, physical analysis and questionnaire – reality criticism (the existence form?of learning adaptation, the mode of operation and institutional logic of the management of learning adaptation )?– prospects for the future ( the conditions of guarantee of the management of learning adaptation?and its social support mechanisms).
Accordingly, this study is based on two dimensions: one is to aggregate the dispersal and the other is to disperse the aggregation.
For one thing, as for "quasi-identity" 準(zhǔn)ethnic Chinese students, the study sets overseas root-seeking summer camp as a research point and then conducts semi-structured interviews with managers, teachers and students.
The study observes the interaction process of the mechanism design and executive subject of learning adaptation education with learning adaptation objects and how it shows the identification of the learning adaptation education problem, the implementation of the education system and the results of the policy program, so as to obtain the?managed map of the learning value orientation, learning process evaluation and learning method system of ethnic Chinese students.
For another thing, as for “official status" ethnic Chinese students, by tracking their personal experiences and story materials with retrospective compositions, the study carries out categorical analysis and inductive analysis from the observation dimensions of experience collection, meaning interpretation, ethical norms, etc. through the analysis procedures of initial coding, focused coding, spindle coding and theoretical coding.
It forms the design basis of the study adaptation questionnaire, analyzes the different level of learning adaptation among ethnic Chinese students with different identity attributes.
?Accordingly, This study explores the institutional logic of the operation mode and knowledge contribution of the management of learning adaptation for ethnic Chinese students, and looks forward to the conditions of guarantee?of the management of learning adaptation for ethnic Chinese students and their social support mechanism.
