????A faint unusual change from the void came into the wizard's brain. He slowly opened his eyes, one of which was green and the other was gray. The pupils' different colors were so queer.
????He was Daolon Wong, the Lord of the Dark Chi Wizards.
????He just felt the monks of the temple had found the Chosen One, upon whom the Good Chi Wizards depended to thrive. If they woke the Chosen One's chi, he would be threatened. As a Dark Chi Wizard, he must stop them.
????"Gan, Ren, Chui, remove the Chosen One!"
????The three Dark Chi Warriors appeared in Daolon's castle. Taking the order, they turned into a cloud of smoke and vanished. The castle returned to its silence.
????The monks had planned that Tohru the Chosen One was to come back solemnly to the castle with only Jackie and Uncle protecting him. They did not want a child to slow down the journey, especially a child who seemed to befriend a demon. But Tohru stated that if he could not be with Jade and Hsi Wu, he would not go either. The monks had to take them finally to … serve the Chosen One.
????Jackie carried all others' baggage as well as his own; Jade walked before Tohru to spread petals on the ground; Uncle walked beside Tohru and fanned for him with a Japanese banana leaf; Hsi Wu flew above him and sheltered him from the sun with another leaf.
????The three monks clustered around Tohru and were filled with pleasure. They finished the errand given by the wizard of the temple – finding the Chosen One. His glory would return and shine.
????Hsi Wu was not annoyed at all about sheltering the sun for Tohru. He just laughed with scorn secretly in his heart
????Tohru could not be the Chosen One because there was no chi broad as the sea within him. If the Chosen One was beside him, it must be Jade.
????These stupid humans found the wrong person. The real One was serving the one they wrongly thought was the candidate as they had requested. Maybe they would not realize this until they arrived at the temple.
????Hsi Wu was not worried about the differences this might make to his plan.
????Arousing the chi before Jade grew up would just harm her, which the monks of the temple would not consider. And they would not pay much attention to her before they woke up her chi, lest the Dark Chi Wizard fixed his eye on her.
