【雅思口語 5-8月】有趣的工作 ? Describe an Interest

I’ve always been fascinated by therapists.?I first knew the job?back when I was in secondary school. At first, I wasn’t so crazy about it because there was still kind of stigma of?mental health. But later when I went to uni, I?got rid of?a lot of the?myths and misconceptions. And that was when I realized that only very few?people are perfectly healthy mentally. And to some extent, everyone could use some help when it comes to navigating?the ups-and-downs of life.
?
As for the requirements, I don’t know for sure, but I guess therapists should be?good listeners to be able to empathize with others. Also, strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills are also essential in order to make?workable plans to help the clients effectively.
?
I find the job interesting because I just think it’s such an admirable thing to do to help your clients?get to know themselves better and cope with traumas. I guess it must be very fulfilling?to guide?the?clients?through the whole?journey of self-discovery and see them evolve into better human beings. Not to mention how flexible?the working hours are: There’s no need to stick to a rigid nine-to-five schedule. With online therapy, it’s also possible to work?in the comfort of your own home.
?
But then again, I might be romanticizing it too much in my head, since my knowledge?of?the job is rather limited. And I’m sure being a therapist comes with a lot of challenges and risks:?difficult clients and?emotional burnout come to mind.
?
Nonetheless, I still think overall it’s a super interesting job that offers exciting possibilities.
