Not such pretty pollys! Five foul-mouthed parrots have to be separated by zookeepers after learning to swear and egging each other on to be offensive in front of visitors

?
Five foul-mouthed parrots (pictured) have been separated after learning to swear at a Lincolnshire zoo?
Steve Nichols, CEO of the wildlife park, said: 'We saw it very quickly; we are quite used to parrots swearing but we've never had five at the same time.

'Most parrots clam up outside, but for some reason these five relish it.'
The parrots have since been distributed to different areas of the park so they do not 'set each other off'.

This was in the hopes that they would pick up natural calls from the other African grey parrots.

'People have come to us, they think it's highly amusing, we haven't had one complaint,' he said.

'When a parrot tells tells you to f*** off it amuses people very highly. It's brought a big smile to a really hard year.'

The park is also home to parrot Chico, who made headlines in September after learning to sing a range of pop songs, including Beyonce's If I Were A Boy.

That made me laugh! But let them stay together for goodness sake, kids will hear worse than that in the playground!

Independent Brit, Baldock
Maybe it's kids who taught them to swear.

Maggiechops, London, United Kingdom
Poor parrots - I ve seen them in their natural habitat - never understood zoos

TheJoker111, Ascot, United Kingdom
Don't be silly. Somebody will get offended

kdad, providence
Ok i know, swearing in front of children is a no no but with all the nastiness in the news, this truly made me laugh.

Lufcbro, Leeds, United Kingdom
Egging each other on. Absolutely love it

I have a name, Cheshire, United Kingdom
If they get a long well they shouldn't separate them. It's more important their relationships are maintained.

dickyt, london, United Kingdom
yes that's why we put criminals together in prisons !

Claude_Rains, Ur, Iraq
dickyt - the difference is that criminals aren't entertaining. Unless they're being fed to lions.

Wotutalkinbout, Whoopedeedoo, Australia

That is cruel they will miss each other.

Haegtessa, Kingston, Australia
Dingo: separation is a stress level for birds that live in captivity in small flocks. Welfare is supposed to be top priority in such places, not woke angst.

Eeverythingmustend, Salford, United Kingdom
These parrots are the funniest things going. I've got two, and it's unlimited free entertainment

Lokamoka, Hengoed, United Kingdom
How on earth can you blame the parrots and separate them, when it's obvious they've recieved hours of human tuition!

Fergus3, Avalon, United Kingdom
Brilliant ! I'd love to have one of those to deter unwanted visitors.

Hilz, London, United Kingdom
So mean to separate them I hope they are coping. And how is it their fault?

lakesider, Suffolk, United Kingdom
Best news of the day but very cruel to separate the five friends.

newsoul, oxford, United Kingdom
That made me laugh out loud!I wish I could see that! Please don't separate them.

TheGenuineSeer, Paisley, United Kingdom
They shouldn't be separated. They should be allowed to enjoy each other's company. They should be back together swearing away.

Wallys, Sunderland, United Kingdom
Can't believe no one from the woke community have complained about the parrots bad language

bjbunny, London, United Kingdom
Why split them up? They don't know what they're saying is rude!!

sesemrub, London, United Kingdom
They're very intelligent and realise it gets them attention.

Shiraz78, Chippenham, United Kingdom
Haha good for them. I'd cuss and swear at humans too.

meljan, portadown
Stupid. It's probably the best visitor attraction the place has.

brid21, Dublin
I so agree, they will miss each other.

Tezack, Rotherham, United Kingdom
Put them back together it's not here fault they learnt to swear.

Christine999, Truro, United Kingdom
Let's have a petition demanding the parrots stay together. It's unfair to separate them as they seem to be having such a good time.

Dontsayitoldyou, Dublin, Ireland
Free the feathered foul mouthed five !

Banh Khot, South Yarra, Australia
They will miss each other. A "Save the foul mouthed feathered five" petition is needed.

I would have made a trip to that zoo just to see this !!! Brilliant, shame they have separated them

Gazla82 , Boston, United Kingdom
Go anyway, you won't be disappointed, take some grapes and plums with you.

Mrs. Baggins, The Shire, United Kingdom
That's wonderful. They egg each other one.

JDoe080, Orlando, United States
Someone PLEASE record them when they go live lol

Rob, North Wales....., United Kingdom
Just open an, over 18, enclosure for them, as I'd pay good money to go and see their foul mouthed antics :)

vivvi, Sevenoaks, United Kingdom
Another example of the curtailment of Free speech!!!

Fiona Powell, Cwmbran, United Kingdom
Don't separate them it's cruel, especially after they've bonded. Just teach them a new language & new words to speak!

Burty911, England, United Kingdom
Leave them to it i say

munj, london, United Kingdom
That the parrots were separated for the sake of young children made me laugh out loud. Children these days could teach the parrots a few choice words. Just listen to groups of them turning the air blue when they come out of school.

gilbertgecko, Bristol
My mum has 2, they don't swear but they can mimic the telephone. Amount of times I heard my mum rushing down the stairs to get the phone - and those little gits would start laughing. I admit I did too

Tallulah lucky lady, uxbridge, United Kingdom
Love them, let them swear away.

lw86, Stoke On Trent, United Kingdom
Wildlife park completely missing a trick here , why not advertise them as an attraction instead of separating them. People would love to hear it and we all need a good laugh at the minute . If their worried about complaints just place a sign up beforehand and state to please avoid entering parrot area if offended by foul language

Krankers, Down South, United Kingdom
The one time I wanted a video

Neatfreak, London, United Kingdom
A video of the foul mouthed parrots would have been very entertaining.

Debs1970, Derby, United Kingdom
That's brilliant so funny. They should have left them all happily living together

blahblahblah1, London, United Kingdom
Best story today.

Ivor Bollikov, Newcastle, United Kingdom
I blame the parrot parents.

actonimpulse, London, ?land Islands
Keep them together, separating them seems cruel. Not as if no ones heard swear words, poor birds. Probably their keepers need separating as they probably taught them.

Opto48, Surrey, United Kingdom
Seems cruel to split them if they were all mates.

DeerHunterUK, Portsmouth
I would pay good money to see that.....need a laugh...

oneaboveall, london, United Kingdom

Get the wee troopers back together where they belong.

In-the-now, London, United Kingdom
They would attract a lot more visitors if they kept the rude birds together!

Lisa, London
This is sad. Their lives are miserable enough in zoos as it is. Perish the thought, an animal allowed to enjoy itself!

Clarabelle, London
They know the words get a reaction. They have no idea what the swear words mean.

gdom
Parrots form bonds with other parrots or humans. They get stressed out without continuous company. They obviously have a bond do put them back together.

Rocksey, Utopia, United Kingdom
Brilliant. If they fancy a holiday, they can come and stay with me for a while :)

Thank God for this parrot story, they can take my freedom, but they will never take my sense of humour!!!

Wired for Sound, Manchester, United Kingdom
I cant stop laughing!!! Much needed too!

RocketQueen2, London, United Kingdom
Funny, they do apparently have a sense of humour according to some studies. Please put them back together though, they are already in captivity and being together makes their life that little bit better.

howey06, home, United Kingdom
Sound like one of those parrot noticed swearing mean a change of attitude from visitors and obvious parrot like it and encourage others do same.

J1822, London, United Kingdom
I'd rather my kids hear these parrots being a bit cheeky than that monstrosity of a song by Cardi B which seems to have been deemed universally acceptable.

Much needed light hearted news.

dippyc, Boringville, United Kingdom
Shame they had to be separated , another idea would be to warn visitors with young children. Sell little packets of ear plugs with profits going to the park ( disposed of properly) and let the adults hear the comical / bad words . I'm sure it would cheer us up no end. Hope to visit soon.

MM Louis, Anderlecht, Belgium
Another idea would heve been to just let them be, for God's sake. All the ridiculous fuss about a couple of cussing parrots...

sally, Spalding, United Kingdom
The park has suffered financially due to Covid. Keeping them together would have made more sense in terms of visitor numbers.

No complaints but they still ruined the fun. I'd have paid extra. They should have put up a sign "Come and see the f@#&ing parrots"... :

Unless they keep every parrot isolated from others they will only teach more parrots to swear. Keep them together, parrots need company.
