In many countries, traditional foods are being replaced by international fast foods this is having a negative effect on both families and societies .

To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion？

Food globalization has been part of our life. And this challenges the dominance of traditional foods while their competition provides more merits than demerits.

The fast food industry has fuel today's obesity epidemic. Such prestigious brands,such as ubiquitous KFC uses their marketing campaign to shape eating their food as a fashion and lifestyle without providing adequate information on its high calorie foods and lack of nutrition. As a result, children who tend to blindly follow the trend are easily victimized by the low cost fast food. Traditional food, being part of food heritage, is accordingly lose its cultural impact on children.

Nonetheless, Food globalization offers people access to a wide variety of cultural diversities which not only enriches people's daily life, but also stimulates the development of local food enterprise. It's not uncommon to see that many local brands learn how to operate standardized food in larger scale from such international food giants. With the booming of domestical foods equipped by advanced operation,they successfully earn the market share which was taken by international fast foods before back. This process explains the benefits of food globalization. For locals, spending time in foreign restaurants is also a new experience.

Food is a basic element of people's life with profound culture contexts. In the complexity of local culture interconnected with global culture ,we had better welcome the new things that international fast food brings rather than criticizing them. And, no one can actually replace the counter party.
