當(dāng)我開(kāi)始讀一年級(jí)的時(shí)候，我的英語(yǔ)成績(jī)只有16分，這是相當(dāng)驚人的。

When I started first grade, I only scored 16 in English, which was quite alarming.

那時(shí)，我還是一名新生，

At that time, I was still a new student,?

英語(yǔ)不及格意味著我必須重新上一年級(jí)。

and failing in English meant I had to retake first grade.

那時(shí)我還很年少無(wú)知，什么都不懂。

I was very young back then and didn't have a grasp on things.

第二年，我重讀了一年級(jí)，

The following year, I repeated first grade,

and that's when I started moving towards improvement.

Gradually, English became my strong suit, and I even excelled in my class.

Repeating the grade truly helped solidify my foundation.

我開(kāi)始更認(rèn)真地對(duì)待事情，拒絕接受失敗。

I began taking things more seriously and refused to accept failure.

值得一提的是，留級(jí)讓我感到很沒(méi)有安全感。

It's worth mentioning that repeating a grade made me feel quite insecure.

由于年齡比同齡人大，每當(dāng)他們問(wèn)起我的出生年份時(shí)，

Being older than my peers, whenever they asked about my birth year,?

I felt self-conscious and hesitant to respond.

我決定去中國(guó)大陸學(xué)習(xí)，把英語(yǔ)作為我的專(zhuān)業(yè)。

I decided to study in mainland China and pursue English as my major.

Becoming an English blogger was a result of a fortunate coincidence during my university years.
