In the Sunday race at the Nürburgring, the AlphaTauri AF Corse driver showed why he had graduated all the way to Red Bull in Formula 1 already. In an absolutely commanding way, Albon crowned himself as the first-ever Thai race winner in the DTM’s long history.

Talking to SAT.1 commentator Eddie Mielke right afterwards, he praised his team in particular, keeping his usual low profile: “They have done a mega job, the car felt great throughout.” Later on, he added: “That was a really good day for my team and for myself. The team has worked hard overnight and that paid off.”
