I don't think so.

I think children in different ages of group will have different choices and preferences

Normally, when they get older ,the taste will change accordingly

I suppose for children who are below five years old ,they are found of comics especially comics with illustrations

This is because as long as there are pictures and the pages are colorful, children will feel more engaged

But I suppose when they reach 10 years old, probably some scientific fictions, some books on popular science ,some fairy tales would be appealing to them

I mean as opposed to younger children, they have better understanding towards complicated stories

It's a great question

I think in the past before the internet and all the new technologies were invented,

It was, parents or teachers who lived up to the responsibility of storytelling

I recall when I was a child ,my mother used to tell me stories during the bad time, which was a sweet sweet time

Currently ,with all the internet and new technology ,the story is different

I mean, nowadays children can follow lots of stories online

There are various videos, which can tell stories with sound effects ,movements and even sometimes 3D effects

Well as I mentioned, probably for some parents, they still have the habit to read something with the children

And I do believe this interaction between parents and children is rather significant

Because this is where children feel secure

And this is a very positive home schooling

Also, if parents are too busy to read for their children, they can take their children to some children's learning studios where their children can read with other peers or there are some professions teachers who can guide their children through reading.

Well, ?not only children. but also adults love stories

This is because in stories, there are always some positive values ,such as diligence, perseverance, stoicism

And I would say the value is simple in such stories ,

that is eventually Good people will win. And bad people will be beat

And we all enjoy seeing the triumph from good people

Especially, when reading some fairy tales ,children are involved in an imaginary world where everything can be possible.

I mean there's some magic there

So it is rather intriguing

And that is the reason why 哈利波特 is a real page turner and best seller .
