剛發(fā)在bbs上的還沒轉(zhuǎn)中文不過先發(fā)吧haha請包涵 Noob machinist, 1st time ever re-sharpening carbide end mill, cheapo without surface grinder( now has mini-mill, surface grinder is my new dream lol ). At 1st I was imagining a routine maintenance practice, but then found out the end mill cutting edge was destroyed. Reason is obvious because I didn't afford a proper milling vise( not even cheapo but good vertex one ), and complimentary vise came with mini-mill is simple drillpress ones. The grip lifts / loosen all the time and bumping end mill. Let alone it never archieves accurate 90deg right angle however you try. Thank god carbides are good at cutting and cuts with botched edge didn't botch recent job, I didn't even notice...?

Bought a cheapo diamond grinding bit when touring Klong thom, at first I doubt it could grind carbide, but it's brilliant like cutting the butter. Still I fed it very slow, z-axis 0.15mm at a time, tools safety / life always first concern since limited budget lol??

Since end mill edge already cracked a potion, have to cut deep and difficult to estimate proper radial angle, and edge not as straight as it should - but very sharp and good enough, much better than cracked edges at least!?? Also since mill rpm is rather slow compare to proper grinder, have to set the mini-mill rpm very fast for its capacity, and fast rpm and very light grinding load results darn mini mill doesn't like it and wasted tons of heat. Have to be careful and let it cooldown when hot, thank god this won't be very frequent if get a proper milling vise!?

----------------------------------- LESSENS LEARNED:? 1. Never use drillpress vise on milling machine, ever.? 2. Small diamond bits grinds carbides like butter, satisfactory! ?? 3. If don't wanna mill bits fall into the through hole have to dismantle indexer head and re-measure everything blahblahblah... Drop a tissue inside to prevent falling.? 4. And continue dreaming about surface grinder, which is much better for any surfacing job haha555
