我翻開歷史一查，

這歷史沒有年代。

歪歪斜斜的每個頁上都寫著仁義道德幾個字。

滿本都寫著兩個字是：吃人。

你們是知識階級。

而知識階級該是怎么樣的呢？

在我看來，他永遠是精神界的戰(zhàn)士。

他永遠不滿足于現(xiàn)狀，永遠不顧厲害。

因而永遠都處于痛苦。

并隨時預(yù)備作出犧牲。

但同時他又是獨立而清醒的。

從不人云亦云，見風(fēng)使舵或者隨波逐流，

也不會一窩蜂地充當(dāng)看客或虛張聲勢地跳到臺上去作戲。

因此他又是孤獨的，富于洞察力的。

他會從天上看見深淵的。

You are the intellectual class.

And what about the intellectual class?

In my opinion, he will always be a warrior in the spiritual world.

He will never be satisfied with the status quo, and he will never care about his greatness.

Therefore, it is always in pain.

And ready to make sacrifices.

But at the same time, he is independent and sober.

我這一生好像是在不斷生病和罵人中，就過了去多半兒。

我30歲不到，牙齒就掉光。

滿口義齒。

我戒酒，吃魚肝油，以望延長我的生命，倒不盡是為了我的愛人，大半是為了我的敵人。

真的知識階級因此而獲得了自己的獨立的價值。

社會的不斷進步，正需要這樣的，永遠不滿足現(xiàn)狀，永遠不合時宜的真的知識階級。

任何人，你哪兒不能去試圖阻礙歷史的前進的車輪。

你非要等呢，那的結(jié)果只有一個，什么呢？被攆著腿嘛。

那些切切實實，腳踏實地為中國人生存在一定的，而流血奮斗者。我得引以為同志，而且以為此光榮。

新文化的大旗得你來扛。

魯迅才是真正的騎手。
