Labor Education, necessity of life

Good evening ladies and gentlemen.?I’m Aloes from Class 4. Today my topic is “Labor Education,necessity of life”.?At first I’d like to raise?two questions.?What is labor education??Why is?it?important to take part in labor activities??In my opinion,?labor education is not just an independent subject at school, but also an important part of Chinese education system, the meaning is profound and the influence is life-long.

It?may sound a little bit hollow because?some people among us have a rigid impression on?labor education?since most of us will pursue more academic achievement by entering our dream university instead of being blue collar workers, and why bother doing labor activities??Isn't it just to let us do the housework??Spending more time on reading and learning seems more sensible!

Actually,?this view is just too narrow.?Carrying out labor education can connect the school lessons and our real life, so that the theoretical knowledge we learned in the books can be translated into our own practical experience.?Imagine the pleasure we feel when we taste the tomatoes we plant and care. Imagine our parents’?widened smile when they see the dinner we prepare. Imagine the sense of fulfillment and joy when we finish a volunteering job. It’s real connection to life, as a student, as a growing member of the community, and as an all-rounded person. Also,?people with more labor experience usually have stronger psychological qualities, which means that they can have greater prospects for development.?So this is what I want to call out to every student here tonight: Drop the short-sighted view and embrace labor. Roll up your sleeves and get down to doing some meaningful work.

Through which, we can experience the fun and learn to master new skills.?At home, we can learn daily work like cooking, which prepares us to live independently when we graduate. At school, we can learn agricultural and manufacturing labor like planting?and making handicrafts, which may let us discover new past-time we did not know we like before. In the community,we can do our part?like volunteering for the public good, helping us to explore our future career paths and have a better understanding of our own strengths and talents. Once again I’d like to stress, we should actively?participate in the labor education activities,?which benefits us in just so many ways. It’s necessity of life and we should definitely embrace it.?That's all I want to share today,?thank you!
