Will Artificial Intelligence Lead Us to a Better World?

2023-04-05 21:12 作者:餐桌故事  | 我要投稿

Recently, with the explosion of artificial intelligence technology applications such as ChatGPT and Midjourney, there has been a lot of discussion about whether AI will lead the next technological revolution.

In the last 10 years, and even in the last 20 years, more and more people are clamoring for the stagnation of basic science development.Quantum computing, string theory and special relativity, the scientific discoveries of the last century, are still considered cutting-edge technology today. In other words, the rate of productivity growth has not kept pace with the growing material pursuits of mankind.Great Lakes workers want to make America great again, developed European countries try a four-day work week, and workers on the assembly line at Foxconn in China want to work hard to buy a house in the city...Everyone has the right to pursue happiness, and no one's happiness is more noble or more of a priority. But when we look around, we see that the costs and priorities of happiness are not aligned. U.S. legislation denying China's status as a developing country, the serious problem of wealth division within China and the large number of people who grow old before they get rich, and on the Russian-Ukrainian border, fathers, husbands and sons who have to gamble even their own lives for a better life.

People cheer for President Donald Trump during a campaign
Workers in Foxconn China
Russia-Ukraine conflict

Is there a better way to end all disagreements, wars, to give every person and every nation the right to pursue happiness fairly?

My answer is, productivity.Well, back to my core arguments,Will Artificial Intelligence lead the next technological revolution?

To answer this question, we must first understand what is artificial intelligence.

The origin of AI can be traced back to the 1950s, when computer scientists began exploring the possibility of creating machines that could think and reason like humans. One of the earliest pioneers in the field of AI was the British mathematician and logician, Alan Turing. In 1950, Turing published a paper called "Computing Machinery and Intelligence," in which he proposed a test that would determine whether a machine could exhibit intelligent behavior indistinguishable from that of a human. In the years that followed, a number of researchers and computer scientists began developing AI systems and algorithms, such as the perceptron, a type of artificial neural network created by psychologist Frank Rosenblatt in 1957.Artificial Intelligence Models, whether they are Neural Networks, Genetic Algorithms, Bayesian Networks, Support Vector Machines, or Deep Learning, are essentially a bunch of complex mathematical models. We define a specific set of algorithms and artificial intelligence to help us classify or predict for that purpose.Support vector machines, for example, can easily interrogate a problem in millions of dimensions, which is unimaginable and incomprehensible to humans. So, those problems that are difficult to solve in the human world may not be worth mentioning with AI.In a chivalrous understanding, AI may not directly enhance humanity's ability to harness disordered energy sources in the same way that steam, internal combustion, and nuclear power do.But it offers an opportunity, an opportunity for ordinary people to take control of unlimited means of production. We learn algebra, geometry, calculus, music, painting and gardening, etc. in school, but we become engineers, doctors, truck drivers, company employees...on our own or involuntarily.Farmers can use AI to paint, and company employees use AI modeling to create magnificent cities of the future, ect.Artificial intelligence may provide an opportunity, an opportunity for ordinary people to try a hundred different kinds of life. One person is an army, and the traditional company model that requires the cooperation of many people may disintegrate under the aegis of AI. In other words, productivity will be greatly liberated. People can work for a cause they really like, and keep the residual value of their own work for themselves. Even the work of maintaining the basic human reproduction survival needs to AI, such as farming, sewing clothes, to free those who work for ?living from the heavy, repetitive work, giving them the opportunity to create or learn to create greater value.

Artificial Intelligence Leads a Better Way?

From the end of the 18th century to the middle of the 19th century, an industrial revolution took place in Europe, which led to a great increase in productivity through mechanized production and mass production. If we travel to 19th century Europe, stop a passerby and ask him, "Do you know that you are experiencing a far-reaching technological revolution?" He probably thinks we are wrong, in his opinion, there is no difference between yesterday and today. Those white smoke, rumbling machines, is just a new thing.
